I have been a Mickey guy and still are. Guy inherited a mess, don’t think he could have done more. Lots of talk about the next coach. I have watched a couple of K st games this year and I like their coach. Dude has made look like a big 10 team

The reasons I'm not sold on Mickey is because some questionable coaching decisions resulted in some losses that could have been avoided.

Mickey has a big heart and a brotherly soul. He wants to trust his assistants and players to win FB games. It is a great trait for a head coach to have. But to be a great coach, you need to know when to trigger your killer instinct and cut the opponents heart out, no matter if it supercedes your relationships. Mickey just hasn't learned how to turn that mode on.

This isn’t the place for Mickey to work out his in game management and strategies. He can do that in a lesser division. Come back when it’s figured out.

However, it's that killer instinct that separates great coaches from average coaches. Without that killer instinct, Mickey is just another average coach.

Frost never made any mistakes or Riley or Bo or Calahan or Solich or even Osborne?
Come on man he us human just like you and me and all the coaches I just mentioned.
Yes they all made mistakes
Texas 1st game in 99 vs 2nd game
They moved up the linebackers and got to the QB faster which led to the win
That comes directly from Solich and McBride

Its a lot easier to sit in front of a screen and make second guessing calls. Its also much more difficult to make calls when you know what kind of talent you are working with that limits you.

It seems like if we just had called the right plays sometime over the last 20 years we wouldn't be in this mess. Right

I'm surprised how many HC's don't appear to have the ability to evaluate what schemes give their team the best chance for success in conference or the best game plan for an opponent, or even understand the strengths of their own team. Evaluating recruits is also a huge part of it. Some of the Husker candidates have those qualities.

the worst team in the B12 beat the likely winner of the B10 West.
the worst team in the B12 is likely the 4th best team in the B10
the B10 conference has to be laughing so loud behind closed doors with how much money they are stealing from the networks. just goes to show how the networks decide winners and losers in the money game not the programs themselves.

You can’t be serious with the second sentence…
They might have beaten the Herkey’s with no offense but beating Illinois and Purdue would be a different story..

And as bad as B1G offenses were, we couldn’t stop any of them.

All those guys other than Osborne was fired. Of course they made mistakes. They were all more qualified than Mickey though. Hiring Mickey would be embarrassing and a huge white flag. Luckily it isn't going to happen. We will be hiring a far more proven coach.

Still think clock management stinks. There was a lot of snaps in last weeks 4th quarter where we were snapping at 20 seconds when we should have been running it down. Proper clock management protecting a lead would have saved us that last minute where they scored.

Not expecting Mickey just think its a travesty how so many folks think he was going to solve this freaking debacle that Riley and Frost left
Mickey had 9 weeks that's it

Never expected that. It was never his job though. He was just a placeholder in a lost season, nothing more.

Fraud didn’t have much experience as a HC and was given more than four years here to learn in the job.

If MJ was given the job (big if), I feel good saying his results over 4 years would be much better than Fraud did. No question!

What Fraud did here was the biggest swindle in college football.

I personally never expected him to get the job yet I never expected such what I call hatred that he didn't get this fixed in 9 weeks.
Yes he should have demanded Whipple change QBS and run more yet I am not sure he had the permission from Trev to cross Whipple. Just my opinion

Undoubtedly, Klieman can coach. He can extract results despite not having highly ranked players.

More than anything, we need a major emphasis on culture and development. It's nice to get high four stars until they get homesick and go running home 6 months later.

K-State is a developmental program. Felix Anudike-Uzomah was a 2* coming out of high school. N sniffed, but passed. He'll be a first-round draft choice as a junior. Klieman's last four QBs are in the NFL today. The guy can coach 'em up.

NU's offense the last few games is the worst in the nation in YPG by over 40 YPG's. Mickey and Whip aren't the answer.

Klieman has never had to rebuild a bad program with a losing culture. He's inherited programs with winning cultures and maintained them at their levels, but that's much different than the task he would have here.

His team now is almost identical to the NDSU teams he coached. Solid fundamentals, run first, pass efficiently, play keep away, and have a swarming defense. Watch some NDSU games, you'll love that team.

Congrats on beating an LSU squad that suited up 38 scholarship players and played a wide out at quarterback....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, you play whoever they send. Not Klieman's fault that LSU sucked. Cats destroyed what they brought, as expected. Same with Missouri.
