True, but one massive call changed the entire game. He wasn't close to shooting that ball, it was a glaringly obvious pass attempt. Instead, he gets two free throws.

And then the other calls after that one

People act like the “bonus” automatically means you automatically shoot a bunch of free throws

Sometimes it means they beat the snot out of you and the refs called a bunch of non-shooting fouls and then put you on the line after they beat you up at the rim

Meanwhile, the midget gets gifted 5 free throws in the second half of a tight game.

That dude had the refs in his pocket, so yeah they had more dudes. They have absolutely 0 chance to win it all.

Oh stop with the Matt Jones conspiracy theories.

Since 2018, Kentucky was embarrassed by Kansas State twice in the tournament.

Not sure what there is to get mad about. The tournament is about guards and their guards were dudes the hit huge shots and we just had one dude today. Cason played his best game since Florida at home.

Need to have a team full of Eric Bledsoe press conference mentality, but gotta have that at the top. Without that change nothing in the program will.

This guy just won the biggest game of his life and they asked about the other program, I would feel slighted as well.

We will see if the dudes next year are better, we are all hoping so.

He can crow all he wants.

He is a first year HC with an average roster who walked the dog on our HOF HC and his five-star, pampered NBA preppers..

KSU had "dudes" focused on winning the game. We had "dudes" that are OK with winning games but their focus was (and is) first and foremost on the NBA draft and payday (Oscar is the exception).

GBB!
I don’t really get this type of thing . There is only one guy on the team that clearly has an NBA future and that’s Cason Wallace . He Came to play today .

We were let down by two guys today who don’t have an NBA future .

Sure he did. It’s why a physical team like Kentucky had 4 fouls and KState had 10 fouls about 14 min into the second half. 😂

Your fans are total clowns if they’re blaming the officials like you. It’s a blue blood in desperation. You got beat because the other team had more skill and could match any athleticism you could throw on the court. You aren’t the bully any more, you don’t have all of the dudes and you’re whining. It’s a joke.

But if those two guys (and everyone but Wallace) don’t have an NBA future why is there not very many confidence in them returning?

KSU had a team built to play together and win and had an ultimate goal in mind. I don’t know if you can say the same about Kentucky.

Well 6 of them are seniors . It’s time for some of them to go. With the transfer portal that would be the reason an Underclass man leaving . It’s not longer just worrying about declaring for the draft when you have the portal like it is

And you are on a Kentucky board because the other 4 Kansas state fans aren’t as fun to talk to.

Once Kansas state got that 10th foul they magically learned to play defense without fouling, much like Auburn in 2019.

I agree it is always a loser mentality to blame the refs and Kentucky losing to Kansas state is an absolute embarrassment for our program.

The missed foul on Wallace before the under 3 time out and then the free two points they gave you right after that turned the game over in your favor.

However there certainly were opportunities to make plays, Kentucky fell apart and Kansas state made plays, same story we have seen in every tournament since 2012 and save thing Kansas state has seen in every tournament they have ever been it.

Gotta change this NEXT YEAR.
Next year, next year, next year...

AIN'T A FVCKING THING CHANGING NEXT YEAR!!!!!

We're going to be right back here bitching and moaning over a second round or Sweet 16 loss with the much vaunted #1 class again this time in 2024.

Thanks to Suckipari, Kentucky Basketball is now irrelevant in March.

Tang is obviously a good coach. Picked to finish last in the B12 and got a 3 seed. He will be poached soon by a better program. Don’t be sorry UK lost when everyone is happy with “Swaggy Cal” it’s beyond hypocritical

Surely cal wouldn’t force kids out of the program that would kill their heart. If wheeler is here next year I’ll jump off the 64 bridge

I agree, but what are the chances Cal finds a player as good as them or better in the portal?

We could have gotten a point guard for this year and still be playing. We could have gotten a power forward and would still be playing and a top 5 team.

Of those 6 Oscar could start, the rest would make the team a deep team capable of making a huge run if one player is off.

Honestly if any name other than Kentucky was on their resume would be looking professionally, maybe towards the portal.

Of course he can say what he wants. He won. He’s also smug and classless.

The way he acted after beating KU in Manhattan earlier this year was another example of his lack of class. Grabbing the microphone and yelling to the K-State crowd was a bit sad to see. Craving attention.

I will give him his due in this regard - claiming K-State has a rich history is something no one before him has ever said. 2-10 against UK all-time, since he invoked tradition. Plus, in three of their measly four trips to the Final Four - UK won the title. Three more than his ‘tradition rich’ school has in their history…

It will be interesting to see how badly he wants to stay in Manhattan if his success continues.
Idk i don’t see anything wrong with celebrating with and energizing his fan base After they beat Their biggest rival. The only ones hung up about “class” is always the losers. And they talked BEFORE the game too. Then they backed it up. It is what it is

How? We were in the bonus with over 11 minutes left in the game.
Exactly! Kentucky had the game and let them beat us. The official's played their part sure, but it didn't alter the results in the end. So, no matter the excuses we make, excuses doesn't change 18 turnovers, two lucky *** three's, 2-22 by Reeves and Toppin.

It was a poorly executed game in the last 4 minutes. Yet, no surprise considering how our season went from start to finish.

Look at the bright side, Calipari has the best class next year right? 😉

I can’t believe how many posters are in this thread that are so upset with what he said. He just beat a HOF coach with the former NPOY and 2x AA and he beat Kentucky. He’s gonna talk smack. That’s what little guys do when they beat the bigger guy. They puff up their chests and talk. Don’t like it? Don’t follow sports. Want it to change? Well we’re gonna have to wait for Cal to move on.

Reading your post reminded me of a Wisconsin fan who showed up after they beat us in 15. He went on and on about how we were sore losers and then said regardless of the outcome of the title game against Duke, he would be back. After the screw job Wisconsin got from the refs, he never came back.

I have a strong feeling that this "too big for his britches" coach will either be crying fairly soon or will disappear never really to be heard from again. Hopefully, I will ENJOY seeing Izzo outcoach him in the next game. I hope the refs give him some horrible calls in the final minute of that game.

Just stop with the officiating BS. The officials didn't shoot 2-22.

I don't disagree with you completely. We were horrible. Having said that, there was a late sequence of events that turned the tide against us. Wallace was clearly fouled but it was ruled a turnover. The VERY next play they were GIVEN 2 FT's on a bad call. (Go back and watch the video on that one. That one ref just seemed over the top to me when indicating it was shooting foul. I wondered if the other ref said he wasn't shooting?)

The momentum went against us on those two calls. That is clear. Would we have still lost, who really knows? But, to deny those calls hurt is to deny reality.

(Oscar is the exception).
Wouldn't call him the exception... he was a liability (defensively and affecting the offensive flow) much of the year.
A big part of that blame goes to CCC for his lack of a plan to utilize him effectively... but I always got the feeling that the millions Oscar put in the bank, negated some urgency (or created complacency) during the regular season.
He was not the same guy in the regular season that he was in the post-season.

I'm not denying this was an awful call, because it absolutely was, but we took the lead back the possession after this call was made.

I agree that the Cats still had opportunity after that, but I felt like that was a big momentum shift. As always, I feel the biggest weakness with the Cats right now is their head coach, and until he leaves, the Cats won't do much. He didn't have an answer when they needed it and couldn't even come up with a solution for the junk inbounds play that K State started using near the end.

It was and it was an awful call, I'm just saying we took the lead after. All we had to do was hold onto it. Couldn't do it.

This dude is really seeming like a douchebag.

He's right though? They had two or three guys make HUGE plays and HUGE shots down the stretch. We didn't. It's really as simple as that. The sped us up and took advantage of the fact that we were struggling to take care of the ball. The two players that play with the ball in their hands the most led us in turnovers (Oscar and Wallace).

Cal hasn't had a guard like that KSU dude since Ulis probably. Just a concrete court grittiness to him that you need period, especially in March.

Clearly the difference.

Cal throughout his career and the first half of his tenure here was always known as a guard guy...I don't know what's happened since Ulis and the twins, but there's been a wrong turn in Albuquerque on the recruiting trail. We haven't seen March caliber guards in 6-7 years.

I agree mostly, but I wouldn’t say since Ulis. We had Fox and Monk the year after Ulis, which was as dynamic of a backcourt as you can get.
