No surprise. Don’t think Geo comes back either now because as he discussed in his post game his legacy (whatever you think it is) is important to him and it will be on the line and IMO a return would not do it well.

Thank you JY! You made a difference here. And you will be missed big time. Best of luck in the future.

Young contributed to the 3 year rebuild, 1 redshirt and 2 seasons on the court. Inconsistent and erratic play mixed with some outstanding key winning plays and moments. Transfer market that fans like to wonder "what if", RU got great energy and heart from a kid who had plenty of other options and laid it out on the line here.

New guards and some consistency will be the path of recruiting going forward.

Pike did a great job with his development and JY did a great job developing himself. Pleasure to have him on the team and wish him all the best.

Always loved Young. He is speed and energy can't be replaced. Really going to miss him next season. Wish he was here for 4 years. One of my all time favorites for sure right there with Douby

This. Without these two we are basement dwellers
Agreed. Outstanding players for RU. What a joy to have them on the Banks.

But RU is gaining some serious notoriety in hoops with every passing year, and we need to keep that going. Transfer portal will be chalk full of talent and we need to bring some that here to RU to compliment the core. And obviously keep recruiting top home grown talent and whoever else would like to join the RU basketball revolution that's been going on for a few years now.

Beginning of last season i cringed when JY touched the ball. This year he was the mvp. Much respect for the effort he gave, and the hard work that led to serious improvement, hope he has a very successful pro career. Thanks JY.

If Jacob is not returning I am certainly grateful for what he has done for RU. He was instant energy and always gave 100 % plus. He led us to several really huge wins and will always be remembered as an outstanding player for us. I am so glad that he decided to pick RU as his transfer destination.

Sucks he didn't get the ball the last 5 possesions
I seem to remember JY did have the ball at least once...in the 3rd? to last possession, but not completely surprising, he coughed it up. Yet it could have helped to have him touch it more and see what he might create. Played his heart out for this team even if he left us hoping for better ball security in some instances. You have to take the bad with the good.

Irreplaceable but mathis will try his hardest. If he takes a significant step forward and most importantly finds more confidence I think he can be a Jacob young lite.

Some of the things I'll remember about JY:
1) An incredible amount of energy on the court
2) Blazing fast speed and athleticism
3) Never pouted when he was assigned to be the 6th man rather than a starter
4) That epic dunk over Haarms in OT last year
5) His nose scrunch after making a big play

I'm sure there are others... but he took a chance on our team and was the consumate Rutgers man. Thank you, JY!
