If he did commit, I would say Cal knows without a doubt that EJ and Richards will be back, because the talk was another big guy, 6 foot 8 or 9 power forward would the next priority. Also if a guy like him wants to come sign him up, there is still room for that power forward.

I will say this - there is no chance this kid is more then a 2 year player and my money is on one and done. Kid is legit af. 6'7 with a shot like that - pro .

He is such a massive upgrade over Baker it ain't funny. trading a decent bench college player for a kid who is a future NBA draft pick ( and most likely 1st rounder ? ) Hell yes.

No UK needs 2 more players . IN what order you get them matters not. Mcdaniels and or Blackshear aren't deciding for at least a month .

I never said he was a 2. I said a 3-4. Go back and read my post. You said he is never going to play the 3. Are we moving the goal post again?

You twice made posts saying people think he could play the 2 and supporting their thoughts.

And you obviously didnt read any of my posts since I never said he would never play any 3. I said there isnt any 3 to it.... he's a 4 here and the only 3 he'll play is a minute here and there sometimes to back up WHITNEY WHO IS OUR 3. Brooks is not a player who can drive reliably on opposing college 3's ........ Cal tried PJ at 3 until he realized it wasnt going to work well........ so Cal will 100% try Brooks at the 3 during big lineups but it wont be much and it wont be as effective .

Brooks is a college 4.........I cant even believe you are arguing against it as its just common sense.

this thread, omfg.

I like OP, seems like a good poster, I have no reason to doubt him.

But even if I did, even if OP was lying out his butt and got all the accolades for being an insider while only regurgitating info...

...WHY DO YOU CARE? HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU? It's like getting mad that someone out there is eating steak and you can't afford to. Don't live your life trying to cut down others just to say you did.

Never understood why people attack others for giving info. If the person is making stuff up they will be found out soon enough and even if they aren't who cares ?

Love how you act like you had any idea who this kid was 2 days ago. You and your constant (never right) guarantees.

I can be happy he's likely going to be a Cat and still think you're pretending for attention. Which is why this needed its own thread, right?

Why'd you tell us about Hagans a month early? What happened to letting him have his moment?
Geez, give it a rest. Are you mad because you didn't find out early or something?

I actually found out at the same time as several thousand other people yesterday. I just didn't start a thread pretending otherwise.

Dramatic much? Settle down crybaby.

This place has like 1% of UK fans and nobody outside of UK following it.

For 99%+ of the basketball world whatever announcement he makes today will still allow the kid to “have his moment”.

This. Some of you act like RR went on ESPN and broke the news.

The article didn’t mention committing to Kentucky, it mentioned reclassifying i thought?

It does, but the other articles, tweets, etc from yesterday were pretty clear that Kentucky has the momentum and that his tweet announcing to reclassify tomorrow is logically good news for Kentucky.

Most of our guys feel the commitment will be soon, if not today. Several of us were saying as much in the other thread. Then this one got started.

That's why we think he took information that we already knew, plus information we already assumed, and started this thread. Otherwise, it makes no sense that he didn't start the thread before it was common knowledge. Apparently that kind of logic upsets people. That's fine. It's ultimately insignificant.

Runt 100% knows some people who hear things. He’s definitely close enough to run across some interesting tidbits. The insider nonsense is stupid. I rarely entertain people looking for attention but that’s not what he’s doing. Runt has told me a few things in private and I would vouch for him on my end. He’s probably a little closer than you think, and definitely not one to look for attention. Had that been the case some things he has said in private......he would have definitely mentioned here.

It’s funny. A fraud like coachX, who’s still running around making troll accounts, was applauded and given the benefit of the doubt by majority yet, runt, who’s a long time member and someone who’s in that area, gets dismissed by other long time posters.

This is why the straight posters dry up around here.

If he said he heard that from a credible source, then I 100% believe he heard it. Just do with it what you want, form your own conclusions. But attacking him as a liar reeks of something other than disbelief.
Thanks Morg. Probably should've just kept it in the PM's lol

While RR is not ESPN, tons of college basketball fans around the country come here and read. Word spreads quick. It will be on other boards and so on and so on. We are the gold standard for message boards.

I live in the Southern California area and I've seen Juzang play a couple of times. He's definitely an upgrade over Baker. Baker, while a good player and seemingly a great teammate, was limited athletically at the high div 1 major level. It also didn't help that Cal constantly yanking him, he could never get in a shooting rhythm.

Juzang doesn't wow you, but he does get to his spots and make shots. He isn't ball dominant at all which is great. He is exactly what the team needs, a guy who will stay on the perimeter and you can kick it out to hit the 3. He isn't Tyler Herro, but he will be what we expected Tyler to be. (Tyler completely surpassed that btw). I almost would say that for next year's team, I'd rather have a fundamentally sound guy like Juzang to stretch the floor than some athletic freak like Hami because that's what we need. His game fits in perfectly with the way basketball is going and the importance of shooting/stretching the floor. I'll also add that Juzang plays in an area where the competition is much better than Tyler in high school. Juzang can definitely contribute as a freshman and someone who could potentially be a really good player by his Jr. year which I doubt he stays that long. I can see him good for 6-8ppg as a freshman.

Also, I have no inside information obv. I never paid much attention to him as a recruit because I always got the feeling he'd end up at a West Coast school like UCLA/USC. So. Cal kids tend to do that. Juzang's older brother is a pretty decent player at Harvard though so there's that. I was hoping a kid that Kentucky would get in on as a grad transfer was Max Hazzard. He played for my alma mater UC Irvine. Really good player and lit up the NCAA tournament. But I think he had a lot of connections to Arizona so that was a done deal before anyone had a chance.

Why are you asking me? I'm not the one following me through other threads upset I wont give in to your Brooks being a 2 or 3. An argument we had like 2 weeks ago [roll]
Others quoted he could play a 2, not me. I said 3-4. Evidently you can’t read. You said he was strictly a 4. Moving the goal post again.

I'm all for posters questioning newbies who present info, but @Rupp'sRunt has been here for 10+ years and has proven to be reliable.

Does that mean he's telling the truth in and of itself? No, but it means I'm willing to give him a pass on this one in ways I wouldn't give some others.

Reasonable veteran posters get a +100 on my legitimacy radar.

Kid has some balls if he's willing to come into a situation where he'll be the fourth guard and possibly third wing forward behind the Maxy/Whitney/IQ/Brooks coalition.

In a modern basketball culture of wallflower divas who are scared of competition, I already like this kid.
