I can understand that situation as Jasper was here and rumors of his transfer would be much more concerning for a player here rather than an announcement to where they will go. That’s national news that can’t be spoiled by a fan really.

I hope this is true. My info is more general: I have a friend who coaches high school basketball in LA, happens to be Asian-American, and is a huge UCLA booster.

He may be prejudiced in favor of the kid because of his Asian heritage but he says people are really not understanding what a talent Juzang is. His brother, who is five inches shorter, plays for Harvard. My friend, who has watched him many times and was praying he'd go to UCLA, says, "he's not going to blow you away watching a highlight reel. But he's incredibly in control, has remarkable instincts, is a very smart player and is a clutch shooter." He thinks he'll be drafted in the first round some day.

My friend has a good track record -- All the way back to Tayshaun Prince he has been advising me on Southern California high school players, and he has always been on the money. He was also the first person I ever heard of to predict Jeremy Lin could play in the NBA. He says Johnny Juzang will eclipse Lin as the best Asian-American basketball player.

Yeah, like i said before. Would not surprise me if he is not better than RJ Hampton, he has not been noticed a ton, will not blow you away in video, but has sneaky ways of filling a stat line like Shai Alexander or Doron Lamb would..

Nothing like UK fans to start going goofy over a potential UK commit.

Better than RJ Hampton who is considered the best player in high school at any age???...ok, if you really believe that.

Well, this has been a fun thread to read this morning.

Hope we get this kid, but getting Blackshear is much more important to me. I'll have a kermit moment if we get him.

Who am I kidding, I'll have a kermit moment anyway, but it would be a better moment with the Blackshear commit.

I hope we get JJ. That Compton ASU team he plays for us loaded. I think they may have won a championship last summer. We need a fundamental offensive guy who can D someone up and that’s what it sounds like he does.

Yeah this johny-come-lately douche bag KL40504 is being a a-hole to several posters , doing nothing but name calling and being a general nuisance . And you are right , him and a few other children who dont challenge other posters with a thought out response , but just sling mud should get banned .

We will see how much he really knows. I just think the kid will announce he is reclassifying to 2019. Just no reason to preempt the kid to be an internet hero.

Just because it hasn’t been announced doesn’t mean it hasn’t been decided. I can see a scenario where Juzang has already given Kentucky a verbal in private but it isn’t made public for a couple weeks. I remember reading that was the case with guys like Randle and Hagans.
