just rewatched the game, because i'm a glutton for punishment...
Andy Katz was interviewing Juwan Howard and says "you have to go back to the RAC".
Howard doesn't realize that's what our home court is called. Howard says "this is new to me, I didnt know this is what their place was called" Andy Katz got a chuckle out of it. I hope the RAC crowd makes him know what the RAC is on Feb 19.

Why would Howard know? We have been irrelevant to the whole world except for us. He is a champion who played big time basketball in college and the pros.

Michigan was in survival mode yesterday, down a starter and another off 1 game suspension with already 6 B1G losses.

Michigan has home and home with Ohio State, home game vs Sparty, home vs Wisconsin road game late at Maryland and other road games at NWestern and at RAC.

Phil Martelli, long time St Joe's HC will carry the lions share of awareness on the venues and what to look for in Piscataway in a couple of weeks.

I’m fine with it.

Just means he won’t be prepping his team for the atmosphere when they visit later in the month just like a couple other coaches failed to do this year.

But Martelli knows. He was an assistant at St Joe's when Wenzel had it rocking in the early 90s

I never stopped calling it the RAC but technically it was the LBAC for a handful of years. So happy it’s the RAC again. The trapezoid is funny but agree it’s the RAC.

That is not how coaches go about their job. Especially head coaches. He's on the court right after his team has won. He's thinking about what just transpired, what he's going to say in his Michigan radio interview, what he's going to tell his team in the locker room. Then he is going to enjoy this win for about 30 minutes, take a shower, change clothes, get with his assistant coaches and start talking about their next opponent. He will probably be watching scout video of that next opponent on the flight back to Michigan.

He has never coached a game at the RAC & probably didn't play in the RAC in college. Why would he know the name of the arena?

Coaches don't get hired at is study every team in the conference so that they know the name of the Arena, if the court is named after somebody, when the school was founded, what the mascot is.

Instead of doing that he was busy doing something else...like landing 3 four-star prospects and 1 five-star prospect (who may never enroll at Michigan).

Just like Livingston Campus... Back in the day it was clled "the Rock". Now that it is built up, I am hearing it called "Livi". Seriously???? Livi?

I could be mistaken but didn't schiano get money from Nike?

Howard was in the middle of talking about his kid who had a great game (Johns) and Katz clumsily interrupted him with something about "going to the RAC". Howard's mind naturally went to Johns "taking it to the rack". As for not knowing what the "RAC" is, well, he's never even coached a game there.

Anyone getting offended by this just enjoys finding things to be offended by. Howard led off that same exact interview with very high praise for Rutgers and Pike.
