7th man player IMO we still need 2 guys that can take over a game minimum either wing F PF or SG 2 out of that 3. Currently we still don’t have an elite scorer. Decent pieces but nothing elite

McBride brings experience having played at Ok St and Nevada before JMU. Good functional size and stretches the floor nicely. He would open up the lane for guards to drive and kick. He also has some ability to put it on the floor and attack the basket as well.
Not sure how his athleticism and speed translate in the SEC. He could potentially fight for starting mins or be a solid rotation piece for 12-15 mins a game.

Overall, we need a guy like him. I would like this addition to our roster.

Offensive threat but defensive liability from what I've seen.
I've heard people compare him to Ansley Almonor and I think that's pretty accurate. He give you something on offense. He's not a good defender. He's probably not the shooter Almonor was coming into UK, better rebounder, probably slightly better defensive player. I expect him to get roughly the same amount of minutes as Almonor had.

He looks like a bigger, more athletic version of Almanor. I just remember AA sitting in the corner and hitting 3s. McBride looks like he moves and posts up like Mo D but can actually finish.

He's taken a demotion every year. B12 -> Mountain West -> Sun Belt. Not exactly the career path you want to see. Entertaining a guy like this just cements the notion that UK is where underachievers / backups go to get overpaid.

Not saying we don't need bodies, just stating some facts. We may have to bite the bullet anyway just to field a team.

Is your statement if McBride is nds up as the starter?

Or are you saying that’s the case even if Freeman (or equivalent) comes in as the starter, and McBride is the backup?

Well according to my last psych evaluation yes yes I am 🤫🤫🤫 I hope he does become elite because the competition is going to be brutal every single night in the SEC and playing real teams. I say you mark this post and we will come back to it. If I’m wrong hopefully Iam will gladly say you’re right but hard to tell because we are still 6-7 players short.
