I don't get it. I know he based his reasoning on a drunk baseball player using the "n" word in reference to him. That's bad, but let's be honest. The real reason for the transfer was playing time. NCAA is truly a clown show.

Edit: just wanted to be clear, I don't have any issue with him playing next year. I'll take our QB thank you very much.

Agree don't think he would have transferred had he won the qb job at Georgia. It is really that simple, imo.

I do have an issue with him playing next year because it is bigger than Justin Fields. The NCAA is a joke, they have just opened up immediate eligibility for any transfer, Are they now going to deny Tate Martel at Miami? If they do it should be an easy court case to win due to the precedence they just set.

The NCAA looks at each case as independent and they say no other cases have any bearing (ball bearings, it's all ball bearings these days) on any other case.

So, I guess we are just left to wonder.

They actually applied quite a bit earlier than that, but were going to drop the appeal and didn’t aggressively pursue it until Gebbia transferred. UCF ultimately held up his appeal by sitting on some paperwork for a while.

There's a fine line between being concerned about the credibility of the NCAA and just sounding like you're hoping teams on your schedule don't have good players available. I agree the NCAA is a joke. I don't care if Fields plays because I want no excuses when (not if) we start winning big games.

Anybody watch Fields on Netflix QB1? When he team was losing at end of games he would ask his coach to take him out. Not want you want to see from a “elite” QB. Just my opinion

They might as well just eliminate the “setting out a year” deal all together. Teams can restrict a player from going to in conference teams or teams they play in near future, so yea, they may as well do away with it all together. Heck this opens the door wide open for any and every player to use the “but the fans yelled this at me” ordeal to try and get to play ASAP.

Records are sealed due to privacy laws, making kids sit is outdated and idiotic. There is literally no valid reason kids should have to sit out a year because they want to transfer. The only similar concept in real life would be a non-compete clause, but since the NCAA makes it clear these are not employees that doesn’t apply.

And if they didn't grant it, ncaa would be viewed as insensitive and "potentially" racist.
