So happy for him and UK! He’s been playing okay the last few games, but today’s game will do wonders for his confidence.

He needs to rebound like Thiero with that body, but he just looked both smooth and strong today.

I’m super happy for the kid, he’s taken all kinda flack and just quietly went about his business. I hope he leads us to a big turnaround honestly because he deserves it.
Yes, but Edwards doesn't actually need to lead us to or in anything, right? He needs to be a good role player - the "Swiss army knife" folks keep referencing.

No he doesn’t. But if he plays close to this level it will help us immensely because we kinda expected him to be a player like this. We have a lot of weapons but the better he is the more engaged he will be.

Literally couldn’t say enough good about Justin Edwards today if we started 10 threads.

Feels a little like when Keion Brooks went off at Kansas and they had no answer.

Or when Wenyen Gabriel knocked down 7 threes.

No one is expecting this every game. But if he could be HALF this productive every night, we are on the short list of Final Four favorites.

Absolutely happy and proud of the kid ! Worked his butt off and is turning it around !!!

Now we just need Wagner to turn it around and get back to being a good PG like was most of the season and we can get this train really rolling

He’s a matchup nightmare offensively for most teams 4. But not for a teams 3 that can match his quickness.

It’s like Terrence Jones. That 1-2 power dribble and get to the rim works against a 4. It doesn’t work when your defender is quicker than you…you have to have better handles and both hands to beat a quick defender (most 3s).

The 4 spot also allows him to benefit from all the spacing created by 3 guards and get more open and SET looks for a 3 instead of rushed or catching on the move.

Hope if/when Mitchell is back we keep JE at the 4 where he belongs in college and avoid using this game tk justify him back at the 3 and 2guard lineups

Lot of people have said Wagner playing well in March is the key to going deep in the tournament, but I think many would agree that Edwards playing well is a bigger key.

We have 4 capable guards, Edwards can own the small forward spot on this roster

So many blasted him from game # 1 to now.
Eating crow isn’t sufficient to cover up how bad so many were so wrong.
This is a silly post.

Edwards went from a guy who was considered a preseason top 5 pick, to a guy who was giving us about 6 to 7 points/game.

The critique was warranted. All of us are happy for Justin today, but the criticisms were valid. Your post is bizarre.

Of course they can, it’s just they don’t give the same effort every game. It’s like most Cal teams, they always win a game with their back against the wall. But no way this team should have more than 5 losses at most.
As I said. When refs control games in conference.... Teams lose games they normally wouldn't
I think their effort has been fine except against Tennessee. Good thing March madness is called differently and legit for the most part. Teams that have good guards play good in the dance

His comfort level growing over the past month has been obvious. Maybe, just maybe, we'll have him at his peak in the tourney. Im very happy for the kid.

Hopefully it shuts up some of his haters on this board.
I hate when people say haters. The haters judge him on his play and minutes. He did not deserve what he was getting. He is now playing much better so he deserves more minutes.

He was as good today as he has been bad for much of the year.
We know he isn't as good as he looked today; nobody is that good
but he was good enough to give some hope that he is better than
he has shown for much of the year.

Edwards deserved a day like today. He's been a great teammate, worked his *** off and not been any sort of distraction/issue within the program. Hope this carries over for him to finish things up strong. He consistently brings it, this team can add another weapon and one that has versatility. Good for Justin!

Perhaps he needed the floor minutes to get comfortable. At any rate, I didn't mention minutes. You know good and well how adly Edwards was treated on this board.

The critique was certainly warranted. If you can’t critique, then what is a message board for? Now people who contact players with vile comments or even criticisms are not good people (or maybe mentally ill). Simple as that. But that’s not what we do here. I think it’s more than ok to critique the current state of the team, who’s playing winning basketball, who needs to improve, who should be playing where, etc. That’s not a personal attack. That’s fans discussing how they think their team can improve.

People don't understand what a ''hater'' is. Haters would hate even after he dropped 28. Nobody would be congratulating him. People interject too many emotions into all this. It's simple. Just call it like it is. A player doesn't deserve the minutes, say that. Doesn't make you a hater. It's just calling balls and strikes.

LOL He had one good game. Now it's time to eat crow?
Im ecstatic he had this game, but let’s remind everyone this was Bama, who has a defense that’s almost as shat as ours.

If he can show half of today against a defensive team and then keep going, hell yeah. But we all know bball well enough to know that Bama’s horrid D helped us wipe their ***, and may have helped Edwards blow up. I’m happy, but hesitant.
