Are yinz still happy with the B1G move? Not trying to be a smart ***... really want to know if in hindsight if any of you think the ACC or even the AAC would have been a better option.
We probably would have been more competitive right away in the ACC but in the long run the B1G is the better option financially. I do miss playing some of the local rivalries though.
Much better in the Big Ten over the long term, academics, sports, revenue.
We are a small fish in a big pond. imo that's better than a big fish in a small pond.
For me personally, I prayed that the ACC would have extended an invite. I miss playing Cuse, Miami, Pitt and the Ville. Playing Clemson and Florida State would have been the cat's meow. The B10 is not bad, I just don't see the cultural and geographical connection, they are midwestern schools. A conference like the ACC would have invited Rutgers on its own merit rather than with any strings attached. The B10 invite resulted in the hostile takeover of the medical school which resulted in 4,000 plus job losses. Just imagine what those who lost their jobs must be saying after last night's debacle. Are yinz still happy with the B1G move? I agree mostly with this . If we had the choice ACC or BiG i would have preferred the ACC. But we didn't have a choice and I am happy we got the BIG invite .
That is funny. Having grown up in Omaha and living in LA for the last 35 years I don't have much use for those commercials either. However, before we moved to the BIG I had to pay for Gameplan to get a game or two each year and occasionally had to do some other PPV, so I am perfectly fine with a few Monsanto commercials here and there.what... you guys dont enjoy the tractor trailer parts and the farm product commercials on big ten network???

+1.Except for Northwestern, the Big Ten is made up of large, research-oriented state universities. We are where we belong as a university, and getting a full share of Big Ten revenue will mean more for us than it could for any other school, given how large the subsidy for athletics has been over the years and the criticism Rutgers faces for its finances.
In my heart I would have loved a true Eastern conference, but in the end we are where we should be.
As a PA resident, "Yinz" is Pittsburghese, much like Yo and Your guys are Philadelphian and Up Yours is NYC.Yes of course. We will get better. And we will be rolling in $$. All good, all good.

Wow. Big 10 invite had nothing to do with absorbing the medical school into Rutgers. For me personally, I prayed that the ACC would have extended an invite. If the B1G was the lifeline on the Titanic nobody would have drowned.your question insinuates that we actually had a choice. we are damn lucky that someone wanted us. as to where I would rather be, I think the acc would have been better with some of our old big east pals involved there. the BIG was our only lifeline. can we ever be competitive with the top teams in our division and play for a conference title....I think that is a long ,long way off.
Last week's poll had as many ACC teams as SEC teams in the top 25. I personally don't see any reason for the trend not to continue.
