Buffalo Creek flood in the early 70's. Hard to watch without being heartbroken ,angry and somewhat incredulous! I had no idea Arch Moore " settled" a $100 million dollar lawsuit for $1 million a couple of days before he left office. Interesting times, I remember the event but was just 9 years old...tragic story of both the flood and aftermath.

I was 16 at the time, just a horrible event.

What was probably meant was that he negotiated $100 million, but kept $99 million for himself and his family........[winking]

I've seen some other Appalshop documentaries, they do a great job.

Yeah, it was really good and for the most part balanced. Easy to blame Pittston Coal and their disingenuous excuse that the flood was an "Act of God" not an act of their absurdly poorly built sludge dams breaking but they really just presented the facts.
