Talk about his seniors. Talked about how much he appreciated the fact that they stuck around after having 3 different head coaches and 3 different cultures. I thought Nebraska was the only program that had turnover. I know, he has superior 3 star talent in a national blue blood program, but his accomplishments are still impressive.

Didn’t Frost say the exact thing about his seniors last year? The lengths some try to go to prop up other coaches and slam our own is shocking.

Yes, but isn’t that the reason Scott needs 5+ years to get things going?

Fleck went 3-1 to finish season 2 with a win over Wisconsin. Please stop this revisionist history. This is his third season!

Took a team that won 8 games the previous season, in fact 8 games three of the four previous seasons and went 5-7, 7-6, his first two years. This year started with near losses to SDSU and Fresno State. Saying it took him over two years to get going is NOT revisionist history in the least.

@headcard, there aren’t enough of us to stop the lynch mob. I appreciate your efforts, but the natives are restless and want blood.

For the record, those who are waving their pitchforks, no one is happy or satisfied with the product on the field. There is a lot to be upset about. I would encourage patience, as I don’t think things will change in terms of personnel, and see what Frost and Co. can do.

Exactly. None of us are real happy right now. But Frost isn’t going anywhere. So we better get behind him.

Apparently it makes some of these miserable people feel better (aka worse) to just get down in the **** and roll around in it. I was thinking yesterday about a lot of positives I could list, but then I laughed and knew I'd get slaughtered for any such thoughts. Forget it.

Fleck took the better part of three years to get going.
True! We beat Minnesota just last season. It sucks and it's easy to complain (I'm one of the worst!) but we have to trust the process and give our coaches time.

I don't understand this idea that fans should just shut up and get behind the coach.

Clearly nobody was expecting a national championship this year.

The head coach sure blew a bunch of smoke up everyone's *** and beat his chest a lot, so I guess maybe some people got over hyped, but I don't think most husker fans thought we would win a natty.. most of the posters I saw were guessing around the 7-9 win area. A few guys in the 6-6 camp and a few guys (ok, me) saying 12-0, just to be a positive window licker, since I am forever harassed about being too negative ;)

Anyway, I think it's normal for people to vent and be frustrated with the season, especially with all the obvious issues and missteps along the way.

I also think it's normal for fans to want to look for solutions.. you go through it all, boil it down, and come down to some basic things, and that takes both sides to do, so I personally don't mind the other side offering their arguments, and they have some valid points too.

Together we all sort of figure it out eventually. Well I would like to think that is the case.

They had a 9 win season the year before he took over. His first year they had a losing season. 3 of the 4 seasons before he arrived they had winning seasons.

Fleck will never have a schedule as favorable as the one he had this year. If someone offers him more money, he'd be foolish not to take it. There will always be jobs like Minnesota to fall back on.

most times turn happen in year three. Next year should be the year for the huskers to step back into a winning season
Interesting. I hope you are right. We will need to start quick, as the back end of our schedule is loaded.

Minnesota played three competitive teams this year and will end up losing to two of them. Granted, we had virtually the same opportunity and pissed it away, but I’m not sure I buy the idea that Fleck is building a powerhouse at Minnesota.

MN won those close games at the start of the season but could have easily lost those too. What is sad for MN is that this is a special season for them and it isn't even going to result in a divisional title. lol.

People were trying to hype up the MN DC change but today MN has been garbage on D. Just like they were against Iowa.

Here is the thing about this thread and damn near every other thread on here. If you are critical of Frost you aren’t a true fan or a good fan. That is such bull ****.

You know way people are critical and pissed because HIS team and HIS players (when he was named coach every player on that team is his not Riley’s) are 0-2 vs Colorado, Purdue, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Iowa. Right now Nebraska is looking up at the entire west division.

I am critical of what I am seeing because I am pissed off at what I am seeing. I personally have a really hard time just laying there and taking it. I will have patience because I have to, but something needs to be shown to me as a fan that things are moving in the right direction. Close loses don’t cut it for me, at the end of the day wins and loses matter the most.

West division continues to run thru Wisconsin for the foreseeable future. Not sure who can compete with them next year.

Nebraska also beat the crap out of them in Frost’s first season while it was Flecks 2nd year.

Not said one word about Fleck being good or bad. There is no doubt his record at Minn is better than Frost's at Neb. Fleck did finish his second season at Minn better than Frost did at Neb also. That is my only argument!

No, the only ******** in this thread is trying to draw a line from Fleck’s “success” to say “see, Frost sucks:” Be critical of Frost, that’s fine. Just don’t make **** up to try and make your point.

I agree. I think we should have better expectations than getting giddy over beating a weakling like Maryland and discussing how we almost beat other weaklings like Colorado and Indiana, but that is where we sit at this point.
