Freshman quarterback Justin Fields has told the Georgia coaching staff that he is looking into transferring after the conclusion of the 2018 season.

Fields asked to have his name included on the NCAA Transfer Portal list. The transfer portal took the place of the release student athletes needed to get from their coaches to speak with other schools.

Fields and his family are expected to consult with attorney Thomas Mars. Mars was instrumental in helping a number of Ole Miss student athletes appeal the NCAA rule that requires transfers between FBS schools to sit out one year. Those athletes, notable Shea Patterson of Michigan, were allowed to play immediately.

All of this does not guarantee that Fields will transfer from Georgia. He was at practice today and is expected to play in Georgia's bowl game. Still, putting his name on the transfer list so other coaches can speak with him and expecting to consult with an attorney who specializes in helping players receive immediate eligibility all point to a likely transfer.

UGA
LSU ( I’m guessing Hurts is pretty much there)
Bama (even worse than situation at UGA)
FSU ( LMFAO)

Unless he has some new great options, we need to jump at this.

Hurts won't be going to LSU. I doubt he goes anywhere.

Why would he get to transfer without sitting out? Ole Miss had probation issue. UGA has nothing going on. He will have to sit out. He committed there. Tough luck bud. Your sitting out.

Fromm is an elite QB who has experience over Fields. And I guarantee UGA wants him to stay...i.e. he's good enough for UGA.

Florida State

Maybe Ohio St.
I don't think they are high on Martell or Baldwin.

I wasn't particularly high on Baldwin in High School.
His replacement was a much better QB and was the QB in front of him in Charlie Brewer

Van Jefferson was allowed to go to Florida.
I doubt Mars can get Fields eligible next year so Georgia can block any transfer.
I doubt he lands at another SEC school.

He becomes toxic if he goes on record and tells a judge that UGA paid him.
Jefferson transfered because of Ole Miss probation.
