Amaker, B. King, G. Hill, Wojo, Battier and Shelden Williams. What kind of starting line up and 6th man would these guys make. Could they compete. We all know that they were NDPOY with Shane doing it 3 times. We do have some guys that could put it in the hole but talk about slap the floor defense. OFC

I do miss that Duke defense of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. When you saw the floor slapping, you knew that defense was cranking up!

I swear, something about be look on Wojo's face when he did, even changed my attitude and intensity !!
I would come up off the couch in a sweat and yell "that's right! Let's pit the squeeze on 'em!!"

The first time I remember the floor slap was Quinn Snyder at the FF game. Always pumps me up when I see it happening....and really pisses me off when I see an opposing team mock it.

I remember Coach K one time talking about Wojo and saying something to the effect of, "coaching kids who believe they can run through a wall is a pleasure.....and Wojo is a pleasure."

I coached a kid once that was my stopper. He really did not have the ball skills for being a shooter, but give the kid an assignment to deny the other team's ace and it was money. He would foul, but not foul out. He was just determined. I know exactly what you mean -- Riley was a pleasure.

I remember sitting in an American history class with Wojo... so Dean Wilson used to sometimes ask someone a question, and offer up booze as a prize if they got it right... "A six pack of your favorite imported beverage,""a six pack of your favorite dark ale"... stuff like that. So he would ask, and if the person couldn't answer they could pass the question left or right.

So one class he asks some kid a question and offers him a six pack as a reward. The kid doesn't know, and he passes it to his left, which was Wojo.

"Mr. Wojciechowski?" asked Dean Wilson.

"Yes?"

"Do you know the answer?"

"Do I get the beer if I get it right?"

"No, that's only for the original person."

Wojo paused, and then said "Well then, I don't know the answer."
