We need DT’s next year as well. I think the LB’s will be much improved. Buffington, Ries and Weiskoff just needed one more year of seasoning. But agree on DB’s and WR’s. Need an alpha WR and TE.

What advantages does Iowa have over Indiana, or most any other B1G school? Certainly not demographics for recruiting or funding. Its not like Iowa has ever competed on a yearly basis for championships either. Why doesn't Illinois or Minnesota win more then Iowa? Schools WAY bigger then Iowa with way better demographics for recruiting and probably alot more money.
Well MIchigan is probably just going to a bowl. Penn State no bowl. Clemson do they even make a bowl? Lots of good teams gonna be left out. Really the top 11 because the G5 gets one no matter what.
It does matter. It matters for recruiting and maintaining a positive narrative about our program so we might be able to get the nod in future years for the playoffs if we're 10-2 and compared up against another 10-2 team from SEC or 11-1 Big 12 team. A win @ USC and strong finish to this year will pay dividends to preseason ranking and recruiting for next season.
Anybody want a future bet, two years from now??people should really stop using Indiana as an example of how simple it is to make a big jump in success.
Indiana has an enrollment almost double Iowa with a top 10 business school.
Indiana is a great example of using the current NIL/Collective rules to their advantage.

In case my point was missed. Indiana will not be a perennial contender in Big Ten football. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet on it.
As long as Cignetti is there I'll take that bet. Especially if he is still able to get QB's like he was able to snag out of the portal this year. It's not like they are doing it with smoke and mirrors. They have won at Iowa, at Oregon and at Penn St, who is obviously down that's still a tough one to gut out. They are physical on both sides of the ball.

Agree. This Indiana team is excellent, as was last year's team. Remains to be seen if it is sustainable. I'm on the under.
Northwestern was competitive at the top of the conference a year or two in the last two decades. Likewise for Purdue. Likewise for Illinois. Likewise for Michigan State. Wisconsin for a few years.
Ohio State and Michigan, well there's a different story.
It matters going to a bowl. The game doesn't count as one of the game of 4 players may play in to save eligibility and also the practice time. Means a lot for the following spring and summer.
Of course it does,... provided your attention span exceeds that of a four year old.
