We took 4 QBs to Minnesota with a limited travel roster, I wonder if this means Vederal starts with McCafrey & Bunch as back-ups and Martinez to watch, rest, learn and be part of the team.

I think Martinez sits and Frost goes with a more balanced version of the Frost/London model that TO used against UCF in '97 where Vedral gets a couple of drives and then McCaffrey gets a drive regardless of the score of the game up.

Best case scenario is McCaffrey plays in planned action because it has other implications: (1) The game is playing out as the coaches expected, (2) Martinez is likely healthy enough where the coaches believe McCaffrey can play this game and still preserve his redshirt as he won't be needed as the primary backup for an extended period going forward.

Hmmm. He plays a lot of special teams and backs up at RB and can play the slot. Wonder if he's hurt.

Maybe it doesn’t matter as far as numbers go but if you are down to your 3rd string guy you are basically F’d anyway. Not sure u ever need a 4th
