I encourage you to read it or listen to it. I thought it was very interesting about the comments of players calling out other players. They didn't name names but basically said a lot of the guys making stupid mistakes and penalties are the ones that are not accountable, not going to meetings on time, meals, class etc. Paraphrasing but that's my take. Man, IF they only still had the dungeon and leaders from the 90s to handle it. I guess you can't change a leooards spots.

I thought I had heard that this staff had a hard line on missing meals, meetings etc.?
That surprised me to be hearing it this far into the season. Figured that would be all worked out during spring ball. Now the 50 some new players is different but it sounds like it's carry over veterans that have the issues

People can learn even more by watching the coach actually respond to the questions than just reading the transcript. I like his passion!!

What is the rules, policies for kicking kids off the team. Or revoking their scholarship. Is this do able? Or once on scholarship they are always on. If they can be kicked off or scholarship removed. I think Frost may need to start doing so to these guys just not getting it. Maybe having to pay their way for school. Might make them work a bit harder and realize how good they have it. This team needs to realize their are consequences to their action, or lack of actions. There have been non for a long time.

You hear of people being suspended for breaking team rules. I have no clue and don't know if those rules are publicly posted

That would REALLY help recruiting.

To be clear I am talking about in college sports in general. Not pertaining to husker fb as far as breaking team rules.

If football is not a priority for someone there will never be buy in from players like these. We just can’t get rid of them right now.
If they aren't seniors, do you think they will be encouraged to move on or do you just try to bury them deep on the depth chart next year??

The rule of “law” is that you cannot reduce or eliminate the scholarship based on on the field performance. If a student-athlete just isn’t measuring up to where you think they should be, you can’t just cut them. However, the practicality of the rule is that you can just take playing time away or tell them they will never see the field and the player will leave on their own.

Now if the player is missing class and workouts etc, you can kick them off for violation of team rules.

Same problem as 2014. But this time it’s the players, last time it was the coach.
At that point the coach was here for 6 or 7 years. The player mentality falls on the coach at that point. Putting the same blame on a coach here 9 months is not even close to the same thing. If we are having the same issues year 6 under Frost then yes it falls on him. Come on man you are pulling at straws now. We all know you want to put much of the blame on Frost. This is a ridiculous comparison.

I think they can be removed for violating team rules but would think those rules would have to be written somewhere to do it without fear of later litigation. If written and I were HC, I would have a signature block for each player as an acknowledgment they know and agree to them. But, that's just me.

Short of being there, it's almost impossible to know how much of the issue is culture and buy in. But bad team dynamics manifest themselves on the field during games. Can you really trust the guy in the huddle? How much do you begin to resent the guy who negates a big play that you made? If I were Dismuke, I wouldn't be upset if Lamar left Lincoln, never to return.
These kids lost a lot of games last year and that has continued. There are probably some kids that need to leave the program.

Why just Dismuke? Because of the individual glory? Why not the whole team for missing out on the turnover

That play was huge but in Jackson's defense I thought that was a chicken #### call by the ref. We're getting called for everything and not getting any calls in return.

I'm sure a lot of the kids are not currently in the Lamar fan club. But Dismuke's reward for that play should be been lots of high fives on the sidline, not a bonehead move by one of his teammates.

Probably because I can just be only one person. If I am Barry, I’m ticked as well. If I’m Bootle, I’m ticked as well. If I’m Gifford, I’m ticked as well. But the fact that it was Dismuke who made the interception to change the momentum, I can see why the poster said what he said.

Dismuke might be in the same boat with Lamar. Coach Frost called him out big time for his stupid hit 3 yards out of bounds

I’d say it’s pretty similar now and then. In both cases, players were deemed to be poisoned by their prior regimes. Whether it was Bo’s us against the world and SE is a female body part, or Riley’s nobody has to work harder that they want and everybody gets sprinkles.

Of course people are going to be less quick to disparage Frost, since he has more goodwill and a better track record coming in. That’s neither a surprise nor a problem.
