I would assume they think they have some chance, I doubt they're just out there offering guys who are locks to other schools because they have too much time on their hands.

Maybe something changed with Bama's numbers and they encouraged him to explore his options?

Could be a situation like the OL Bell last year, where Bana finds someone they like better and cuts him lose. They do it a lot

yes, I hope there is genuine interest. If I am Bama and I am cutting a talented player lose because of another prospect I am going to nudge that player to a program out of the SEC/South that really isn't projected to be a contender in the next few years.

Also if I am Nebraska and I know a highly rated recruit that is a bama, georgia, or clemson, etc commit still tweets out every power 5 offer he gets - I offer all those kids just for the social media advertising.

He was just offered by an 0-6 team and he's committed to the best team in the country. The fact that he said anything gracious at all is pretty remarkable.

I agree. Wasn't saying he should be excited. My comments was in reference to the OP asking if there was any chance.
