He's a guaranteed first rounder. The risk to come back and see his shot fall off from beyond the arc is too great. He needs to go if he's going to be Top 20. He'll make great money no matter what. The one's upset about him not coming back just can't see the forest through the trees.

There have probably been more wings play their way down draft boards than up by staying extra years. After their freshman seasons weak parts of their game start to get exposed like defense and rebounding. I think it's a good move on Bookers part to go now as bad as I'd like to have him back. If he stays another year his D will move him down in the draft IMO. While he is a decent rebounder for a wing I don't think he would have gone any higher if he stays one more year or three. Wish him the best of luck and hope he makes piles of money and plenty of all star games.

Booker is not physically ready for the NBA. And he had the chance to drive his draft position forward by a huge amount, translatable into millions of dollars. But I wish him well.

I agree. I think hes actually the only one making a mistake. KAT, WCS, and Lyles are all projected too high to risk it. Dakari and the Twins have limitations that wont be addressed with more time in college. But Booker could've really moved up by showing improved defense, rebounding, toughness; all that could've been improved with another year in the weightroom and an additional year to mature. His inability to handle the ball under pressure could've really improved with one more year under Cals tutelage.

Still an inconsistent shooter. Excellent size. Very good athlete, although not elite. Very underrated finisher in the open court.


He'll be a first rounder, without question. But I think he can really be losing money by not staying another year. Especially considering he would've been playing with the best set up PG in the nation.

Some in this thread sound like they have taken it as a personal slight that he is leaving.

I look at it like this...if a company just offered you double your salary, would you not take it to be loyal to your current spot? Or because you hadn't planned on moving on and you're not sure if you're even qualified for the position?

We'd all take the raise and figure it out later. These kids aren't taking a raise, they're taking more than most of us will make in our lifetimes, whether they really are ready or not.

its not humble...its stupid and selfish. ask anyone in the game for real....you learn and develop more at the next level than you do in college. and you make a ton of money doing it. its an easy decision to make.

It is humble, and while maybe selfish as a fan, it is not stupid. I gave the opinion that another year would improve his draft stock and maybe make him more money in the long run. That was it. You are not a nice person.

I don't believe he is the only one making a mistake going this year. I believe that Trey Lyles is another one making a mistake along with Booker. Both are around the same in the Draft around 19th or 20th pick in the 1st round. They both could have stayed and worked on their game another year and been top lottery picks next year. Then for us to say that a Booker or Lyles made a mistake look at a Dakari Johnson that is around #40 in 2nd Round of the draft. I believe there is alot for Dakari Johnson to work on for his Pro Career and one is his post moves, another one is not to get so many close in shots to be blocked when your 7 foot tall, work on defense and rebounding, and work on his shot. Dakari did improve on one thing this year and that was at the FT Line. Then the biggest ?? is when your Mid 2nd round to the bottom of 2nd round or maybe not being drafted why not stay and work 100% on your game and that is the Twins. Is it so bad to now stay at school for 3 or 4 years and get your Degree and work on your game to get you in the 1st round draft of the NBA. When I look at these 7 players there was 2 players stand out that you can say should go in the Draft and that is #1 or #2 pick TOWNS and #6 or #7 WCS. The remaining 5 could have actually stayed and worked on their games another year. If your especially in the low 2nd Round to maybe not getting in the Draft why go Pro?

So yea, I wouldn't do the same thing. I'd wait another year, make another run, get my dik sucked 15 times a day, be a superstar, go pro next year, and collect $3m more over the life of my rookie contract just in case my second contract isn't a blockbuster.

Same goes for Lyles and Dakari, especially Lyles who I see as a #5-8 pick next season if he came back and played the 4 spot.. Both are getting instant gratification now, when smart money says stay another year for a bigger pay day. It's like the game of LIFE, where you want to go into the work force now, but you make more in the long run if you go to college.
