Wow. the Cool Springs area is devastated.

lots of Franklin too. I 24 and 40 are shut down in several spots. 40K+ are without power. 8 confirmed dead so far. It's really the craziest thing I've ever seen. A good fried of mine (State grad) - his house is under water off White Bridge Road. Thoughts and prayers need to go out to a bunch of folks around these parts for sure.

this is the most rain I've ever seen in my life, it's like a monsoon. Supposed to keep raining the rest of today too, and they are talking about having to sandbag downtown to keep the river from flowing into downtown.....crazy

a monsoon isn't rains, it's a seasonal shifting of the winds. Rain is a possible by-product of the monsoon winds.

Regardless, the mid-deep south has had it rough the last two weeks.. 'nadoes, flooding, winds, oil spills...

I'm in Nolensville on top of a hill more or less. Still, Nolensville Road was flooded yesterday when I made a quick Dollar General run for a battery so I wonder if I'll be able to go into work tomorrow. It'd be such a travesty if I couldn't make it in.

sucks ***. and way too far for me to go to do labor for them so i guess we will be waiting to see what they need. fortunately they got their vehicles out and had a little time to put some things in the attic but the last time they left the house it was waist deep.

they had to evacuate 1500+ people from there last night. The Cumberland River is expected to rise another foot before it finally crests and if it does, a lot of the bars from 2nd Ave, east will be screwed. Tootsies should be fine (I think) since it's closer to 3rd Ave. They said on the news last night that this is the wettest May ever recorded and 5th wettest month ever in Nashville and it's only been 2 days into the month. Freaking nuts around these parts right now.
