You’d have an easy time getting tickets for every game if that happened. You’re fooling yourself if you don't think the vast majority of UK fans had a problem with that .

Many will forget he took a knee if he gets the team back on top. I won’t. My only UK basketball will be this board. I won’t go to a game and I won’t watch on TV
Yep. I'm a Kentucky fan. Not a fan of whoever is coaching. The kids are kids and misguided, he's an adult who should know better. There is no world where I will ever respect him again.

How many of you find yourself in a deep dark part of your gut....find yourself in a situation like today, hoping we lose. Ever since the Kneel I basically stop caring about the team...and now watching this stihshow continue there is this little voice in my head pulling for us to lose. I cannot believe its come to that but just between us boys....I bet I am not the only one. The players aside from Allen are not likable at all and Cal.....oh boy I really want him to go. So if we can all keep a secret does anyone feel like I do. It must really get worse before it can get better. Spare me the "I'm blue till I die and will never give up ont them." Whatever. Then enjoy this rolling train wreck that will not improve as long as the current regime is in charge.
This is absolutely where I was with Marvin Lewis in his last few years. At some point you realize that only tons of losing will get the coach to move on/be asked to move on. Cal has been trending down for some time and at this point, YES, it would be best for the program if we lost every game left in the schedule.

I dont actively root against us , but I’ve never seen Karma so visible . She usually works in the background , but karma isn’t going to let JC destroy a player without getting visited , early and often . It’s a unreal spot .. I’ve rooted for the Cats and bled blood for 50 years , and I loathe , I mean loathe John Calapari
I can’t stand him either. I watched an NBA game tonight and forgot UK was playing. Hopefully I’ll catch a replay so I can have a few moments of laughter watching Cal looking like a moron. I enjoy seeing how he seems to be cracking. Press conference me after yet another loss really shows how desperate he has become.

The people who want us to lose want it for the RIGHT reasons. They are sick of Cal's system. They are sick of players using us for a year and moving along. They are sick of Cal addressing the fan base as if we are morons who don't know a thing about the game. They are sick of having a new starting 5 every year and being lucky to have one recognizable player on the roster, And quite frankly they are sick of UK being bad at basketball, and they realize true change won't come until we truly hit rock bottom. I don't root for losses, but I root for UK changing in a positive direction every single time. I am ready for a change

Exactly! They would brush it off to the side and act like it's nothing. It won't make me do that because some on here think kneeling isn't a big deal and how we are just overreacting.

Wait, you think Boston and Jackson are coming back?

This explains most of your clueless posts.

Have you been living under a rock for 12 years?
Nope. I just put that on there to see which moron would state the obvious

You are the winner

Tough year. Clarke available and they win a few more games and make the tourney. But still not competitive.

Next year depends on who might return but on paper it looks like the same basic problem will persist. No shooters.

I'll never HOPE we lose, not even a little. The only thing that little voice says to me is "maybe this is the loss that makes Cal see what most of us have seen for many years and start caring about UK instead of draft picks".
That's all I get, but so far, it looks to me like Cal doesn't have that same little voice. He’s lost, stubborn and has no idea what to do, but he won't admit it.

Yeah I honestly thought Cal's backwards priorities really rubbed me the wrong way but I guess I kinda figured maybe this was the new current reality or something. Still and forgive me if I sound crazy but who cares how many top draft picks we produce or whatever...it doesn't help our UK team none! And how the heck are we supposed to get vital experience when over half our guys just make a one year pit stop and skedaddle? Don't any kids in Kentucky shoot hoops off their barn/garage and dream of being a Wildcat anymore? :(

I didn't even know we played today.... that's how far I've fallen
Almost that bad for me. I was vaguely aware that UK had a game tonight but, didn't know what time or what channel and didn't care enough to search for it. That's a new low for me.
Been to Final Fours, SEC Tourney and plenty of big time games in Rupp but, now I'm at the point where I just don't give a ****.

For the first time since the 1960’s I dread every game. I don’t expect to win something I have never felt since I became a fan. I want things to change, that will NOT happen as long as we have our current coach. So I ask myself what would have to happen for Cal to leave as he is not going to be fired. My only thought is if we lose every game the rest of the season, the psychological pressure would be so great he would leave of his own volition. The season is toast, so if sucking out the rest of the schedule does the job , so be it.

That’s about where I’m at. I’ve grown completely apathetic, which is something I never thought would be possible. My heart rate hasn’t eclipsed 80 beats per minute since football ended. Oh the irony.

Yeah they are kids like that, they are out there .. we have one on the roster now who has been so mistreated he will transfer . The kid who played zero minutes in the second half while hot shot Devin Askew threw the ball all over the gym and does nothing for us .. that’s how you never get that special Ky kid again . Ever .

I don't care about the kneeling. That plays no factor for me. I care about turning our program around before it falls into obscurity. That's why Ive been waving a red flag for years.

I think its safe to say at this point that Mitch fully understands this season is lost.

The question is does he give Cal a pass for Covid?

When you are an AD and your athletic program that usually turns a profit is down $35m, he is probably asking if he gets a pass as well.

I don't presume to know what Mitch is thinking but I do full believe either he is having some tough conversations with Cal or someone is having a tough conversation with him.

As for kneeling, doesn't really matter if you think the fans that are against it are out of touch.

The program needs those old fans more than ever because they aren't being replaced with new fans. And until the UK basketball program figures out a way to bring excitement back to the program with the fans to where it has a fervent following, then you don't do anything to piss them off.

UK mens basketball is a business, and business is bad. The worst its been in 100 years. You don't irritate old customers when you can't attract new ones. This isn't a case of the customer is always right, this is a case of your business model is failing and you made a decision to intentionally lose more sales.

Cal knows it now, but he got swept up in the being woke with his kids moment and wanted to show he had their back. What he should have done is considered the larger picture. Its a case of him putting himself and his players ahead of the program.

Not judging but I couldn’t root for UK to lose I don’t think.

Being indifferent when it happens tho is a different story and is the mindset I’ve stepped into really for the past few weeks at least.
Agreed, the only thing we have to hang our hat on this year now is, will Kansass surpass us in all time wins. While possible, I don't think probable.

Cal has always told us that it's about kids and getting them to the next level. Oh he wants to win, yeah, but it's a byproduct. That comes after the kids get theirs.
The fact that he’s staying the course, means getting guys like BJB and TC drafted, is still his #1 priority. Those guys were going pro even if they went to Idaho state, but he takes the credit for getting them there. Bizarre.

One other thing, as I read the post above I started laughing. True story. They struck me as kind of funny and no disrespect meant. I did not watch the game last night and haven't since the kneeling incident. I follow through the box score with the hope of victory but am not going to get excited about it anymore. This year is a bust both socially and competitively. I will just wait until the dust clears and we (the program) get back to actually worrying about basketball.

Never want to see UK lose a game in ANYTHING. But, I have become indifferent to losing which to me may be even worse. I HATE to see this STORIED program experience what has happened this season. This is going to end up being the WORST season record wise in UK Basketball history.

It's to the point that my anger has turned to sadness. That is something I NEVER thought I would experience with UK sports.
I have gotten past the anger now and just look on with indifference and sometimes just laugh it off.

False. just because you don't get them (understandable because of your past positions) not all fans are as intolerant as you.

I am now in the indifferent mode and feel my attachment and heart slipping away.

I talk to other fans of UK and they feel the same. I have not talked with anyone who would be unhappy if Calipari left the team this afternoon, for good.

I really can not see him turning this around. The wounds are too deep and no one can trust a word out of his mouth.

Most of this fan base is Morons. Look at this thread for example. Kentucky basketball is good year in and year out, except for this year when basically none of the top programs are good. Duke and UNC meet unranked for the first time in 50 years, a literal pandemic destroyed the off season so all these teams that are usually up to par by now just aren’t. Half this board thinks Allen is some god because he can sometimes shoot the 3, some on here now think Billy Gillespie is the reason Cal has a title here. Absolute Morons.
