Do we know the truth/facts?

Was he ever offered the job of HC at dear old Nebraska U?

The closest him came to being here was under Pelini and that wasn’t close. If Pelini would have offered him the OC job instead of Beck, he probably comes, but Pelini offered him the receivers job knowing he wouldn’t leave Oregon for a lateral move.

Well...all the SE fanboys (if there are any left) will tell you that Mike Riley was his first and only choice...in fact according to SE Fanboys if Riley had said "no" SE would have dropped the football program.

If I remember right, Riley was the only one that SE interviewed for the job... Sick

Good thing he didn't come then. If he had, we probably wouldn't be talking about him as a HC candidate now.

Frost was a GA at KSU.

I believe Frost was brought in by Solich in 2002 to help with Bowl Prep, after he fired Bohl and Darlington. So Frost wasn't a full-time GA for us, just for a few weeks. K-State was his first actual full-time coaching job.

Sounds like it wasn't even an interview...sounds like SE was begging MR to come to NU
According to JFlores (and I trust his coach sources) we inquired about at least 2 sitting SEC coaches who he says we would have been very happy with and both said no thanks before interviewing Riley. We didn't offer it to them but their agents said don't bother. I think was Mullen. Don't remember who the other one was.

TO set up an interview for Frost with Pelini, and in typical Bo fashion he (not literally) gave the middle finger. It was as bad as the Pelini/Beck debacle with Joe Burrow.

Prior to 2017, he was never offered a head coach spot at Nebraska.
