It is apparent you're a basement wimpy voyeur like O'Biden. Simpletons and sissies don't survive in the OTB jungle. Buck at 49 it is way past time for you to become a man. We can help with you struggle and more and willing too.

You asked the question? I think this thread answered it perfectly. This place is a Trump rally on steroids.

Actually my OP wasn't a "question" buckbrain...it was an "observation". Only 2 questions have I asked of you in this thread... was what was the point were YOU trying to make? And why you voted for Hillary knowing she was a loser?

Most of the rest of what I've said in this thread has been statements or joking opinions making fun of you or your absent loser friends on the Left.

Don't you try to "guilt trip" me into running off that metrosexual @Bucktown Brown when it was YOU who exposed his more feminine sensibilities!

Made that boy cry and go home! Shame on you @Dog Rescueer!

@Bucktown Brown humiliated by @Dog Rescueer just before leaving the thread

That's a rather unorthodox view, but it makes a lot of sense. The Left thinks we should hate Trump because they hate him personally. They can't defeat his policies which as you correctly stated is why we "held our noses" and voted for him. Now the Left is trying to run against him on policy with a far Left corpse and they forgot to ask the American people if we're ready for the radicals who are pulling Joe Biden's strings?

Ans:

That's why we all must remember that the platform and policies are always bigger than the man. In this country, the platform and policies are always bigger than the man and not the other way around. I feel Trump has, as most politicians do, at times forgotten this and he's had to be reigned in and humbled.

For the left, they can't seem to get over this hump. To them, the person is always more important than the ideas. They have to go with this because, by and large, most Americans don't support their platform. A few planks, sure. But the whole, no way.
Sadly, they've succeeded in convincing enough people through generational poverty and dependence as well as brainwashing children through their emotions that they need to overlook logic and go with them.

I don't see the folks on here from the left as the enemy. I see them as sim0ly being misguided. I'd much prefer to debate them on the issues. But, they can't seem to be able or willing to do that.

I'm not disagreeing with your excellent post, but if what you say here is true then why in the Hell did they choose to run with this dweeb?

I would think people from the left side could defend policies, answer atl questions with good thoughtful responses. Defend what is going on in MSM & all the riots. Tell us why mayor's dont call in state police to crush these rioters before they start?

Hi, remember me?

This method of governing by poll actually goes back to the 94 mid term election which saw the Dems lose the House to Republicans, Gingrich, and their "Contract with America", remember?

Clinton knew he was in trouble in 96 unless he made a drastic change. So, he began to work with Gingrich and the House republicans, signing conservative legislation like more cops in the streets, welfare reform, balanced the budget, etc. He did this because the polls told him this is what the Americans wanted. The Dems became masters of this trend - take an idea, poll it, and if it has support run with it. The Republicans could never get control of the Executive because they had nothing to run on - Clinton had already beaten them to it. All of this came to an end with W. Bush, who spent like a Democrat and paid no attention whatsoever to polling or the people and led to the rise of Obama.

Obama used the Clinton model also, really only going out on a limb for a few cases like Obamacare, which a majority of people supported in the beginning. They'd push a narrative they wanted to create, like gun control, after a mass shooting and take a poll, read the tea leaves, and then make a decision. That's why he talked Dem talking points but rarely acted upon them.

Now, on to why they chose Biden. That's because the polls told them he's the one the majority of Dems could get behind. The other front runners had their own skeletons; Pocahontas was a Hillary clone with a personality to match; Bernie was a socialist that anyone over the age of 40 with a job would never vote for. None of the other candidates had a platform people could get behind and the polls showed it. So, it became Biden, and now its starting to bite them in the butt.

Trump, with all his flaws, has his pulse on middle America. He uses social media as his polling method, and this rankles both the Dems because he's used their method better than they and Reps because they then have to defend or condemn his comments.

With a charismatic candidate, like a Bill or Barack, Trump would be in big trouble in this election. But, with the nomination of Biden, the Dems have shown they have nobody in the pipeline groomed yet. They keep him under wraps as much as possible, hiden biden only to let him out to make prearranged statements and answer softball questions which he then flubs. They wait until it settles down and repeat. No way can they let him debate Trump. No way... the polls show them in the lead and they can't allow that to happen. Its their only chance for November - damage control and hide him, while allowing their cronies in the media to take their shots at Trump in the hope he implodes or "dies from a thousand cuts".

In 2016, we had the two worst candidates in the history of politics running against each other. The right had nominated the one person who could lose to Hillary Clinton. The left had nominated the one person who could lose to Trump.

Trump won because most people in America are still decent at heart. They held their nose and cast their vote for the platform instead of the man. The right knew he was a self-centered liar but maybe he'd follow along with the platform. The left couldn't win because they couldn't and still can't get beyond a platform that doesn't cater to identity politics. The left was so busy trying to be "historical" again with nominating a woman they failed to realize that outside of the major cities, middle America thought she was scum. They were right.

Here we are in 2020 and Trump is still a self-centered liar. But, he's followed the platform for the most part and the country started to run better because of it. The left has tried everything in the power to unseat him, fair and unfair.

But, if you look beyond their candidate at their platform, nothing has changed. They can't compromise on their principles because they have no principles. It's rule by the emotion of the day. Until the left starts to get some principles, they'll have to win elections on charismatics like Bill and Barack or hope enough people turn up their nose at Trump like they did Hillary in 2016. But, I wouldn't count on it. Not with Biden who is being seen as increasingly and increasingly senile. People will choose crazy liar over incontinent incompetence, no matter what the polls say now.

To make it to where liberals can read it, what SS is saying here is that America doesn't want your liberal policies, and will elect even an ******* before they succumb to that mess.

You make some good points, I just think they picked Biden because he's essentially an empty suit and they can mold him into whatever they want. Right now he's a Left wing loon, running further Left than the direction travels.

Good grief!

Because they think it would help Trump. The whole idea is to not do anything to stop the random violence, then blame him.

they can come and debate their points, but they run off to the Blue Lot so Vernon will protect them and if you really get them good on a subject, they will say your ignorant and hit the ignore button.

of the steady attrition of the most vocal and/or ardent defenders on the Left of this forum. Simply scanning the OP's of most threads, very few recently are from the Left of our spectrum. Many names have either gradually or suddenly disappeared. They have so many of us on "ignore" there's probably no one left to read anymore! [smoke]

Consider the most recent cuts to their roster off the top of my Right wing pointy head:
@bamaEER
@moe
@tjebarr
@Boomboom521
@Boomerwv
@Bulya
@Original Mountaineer1
@Keyser76
@countryroads89
@CpEER

Those are just a few from the top of my memory (my Joe Bidenitis is kicking in and I can't remember anymore)[laughing]
This is interesting because I was here when the board was created and it was definitely more left leaning at the time. This is what happens with lefties...they become righties with the wisdom that comes with age.

I just happened to notice scanning the threads not many were from Leftists. They have so many of us on "ignore" I'm not sure what they're reading because all the threads are from Trumpers!

Oh well...
