Unfortunately this probably means that a walk on will be starting at center unless we pick up a center from the portal. Didn't Pitt's center enter the portal? So does this mean the offensive line will be “young” for the 20th year in a row?
Suuuucks. Better fit center in our run at the portal... Hixon ain't
One of the funniest things I’ve read!! And soooo true on this board. So does this mean the offensive line will be “young” for the 20th year in a row?
He was, as you so delicately put it, ******* up because of the way Austin was coaching him to snap. Remember, he came to NU as a tight end and had to learn how to play center from scratch. Once Hoskinson showed him how to snap, he was fine. Can't say I blame him. But hopefully teaches Frost a bit about coaching and loyalty.
They stuck with this dude when he was fcking up every other snap, costing the team multiple games with bad snaps and/or penalties and now he's leaving early.
He's already bigger than Dominic Raiola was when he played for the Lions I believe. I don't know what they listed Dom at but I had seats behind their bench for a game and they had RBs as big as him I swear. A lot depends on the style of play of the offense and what they expect of their centers. Dom had some issues when they put a NT over him in the run game. He was so damned quick though and played with such a great pad level that it negated some of the size differential. If he wants to play with the big boys, he better add about 30 pounds. Good luck and can't blame him for giving it a go.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. His snaps have been great this year. No center is ever 100% but he was darned good. Then you add in his athleticism and ability to pull and he should work at either guard or center. I do think he might be too light to play guard in the league right now. He'll move to guard in the NFL and should do alright for himself
I could be wrong, but seems too light for guard in the league. He'll move to guard in the NFL and should do alright for himself
also potential for injury if he tries to put on more weight.. he must have heard good things to be coming out thoughI could be wrong, but seems too light for guard in the league.
How combine will be incredible. Which will help him a ton.
Isn't the Kid from Iowa that came in last year suppose to be a center? Or the could put Piper there if he can remember the snap count!!Unfortunately this probably means that a walk on will be starting at center unless we pick up a center from the portal. Didn't Pitt's center enter the portal?
NFL centers average about 6'4 and 315. He is not nearly as good as Raiola, who was not the norm size wise. If he get's an invite, the combine will be a good oppurtunity for Cam, as he can showcase his speed. However, I think he goes in the 5th or 6th round. He's already bigger than Dominic Raiola was when he played for the Lions I believe. Who blamed most of our problems on Jurgens?Wait, I thought most of you guys blamed most of our problems on jurgens and now he's NFL?? K. I think it's a mistake
High snap High snap High snap......Who blamed most of our problems on Jurgens?
Same. I think he goes in the fifth round. He's raw, but has a lot of upside.NFL centers average about 6'4 and 315. He is not nearly as good as Raiola, who was not the norm size wise. If he get's an invite, the combine will be a good oppurtunity for Cam, as he can showcase his speed. However, I think he goes in the 5th or 6th round.
Frost came back to coach a team whose fanbase booed him when he was a player. If that's not loyalty, I don't know what is. He could have said, "F*** the fans, why do I want to come back here"? Especially considering the success he was having at UCF.Can't say I blame him. But hopefully teaches Frost a bit about coaching and loyalty.

Dom was listed at 6'2" and 300 lbs for Nebraska and apparently shrunk to 6'1" and 295 at Detroit. He's already bigger than Dominic Raiola was when he played for the Lions I believe. Or he is a kid looking to get paid?I guess he wasn't impressed with Raiola.
Jurgens owes us another year for his patented crap snaps in 2019. Some search teams still haven't found balls he snapped two years ago.
I was up close to the guy when he was a veteran at Detroit. There is no way in hell he weighed 295 when he played at the Vikings. I would have guessed more like 265 to 270. He was dwarfed by his line mates. Listed weights often have little basis in fact. Don't you think it seems odd that he was an even 300 at Nebraska? No way he was that big. We've had O linemen who were listed at 300 admit that they couldn't keep weight on during the season and that they played at more like 265.Dom was listed at 6'2" and 300 lbs for Nebraska and apparently shrunk to 6'1" and 295 at Detroit.
