For those that might know him or connected, what is the interest in either direction. Talk about instill a culture....it sounds good at least.

14 years as an assistant, 10 as a special teams coach. Not much of a resume for leading an SEC program

This is his dream job and that is a direct quote from his mouth to me.

The Giants are interviewing him for their HC position, so he could end up with a better offer than us.

He did recruit west GA and East Alabama for Saban as a GA, but that's his experience that I know of. And no I'm not Beretta, roomed with him in college still stay in touch.

That's what I've thought. He gets mentioned every so often around here - but I'm not comfortable hiring a guy who really hasn't been around college football the last 10 years. He did spend a few years under Saban back around 2010. I'd want to see him prove himself as an assistant or HC at a lower school on the college level first.

He will be an NFL head coach in the very near future.

He played here and his wife played soccer here. They are MSU through and through. He's considered one of the best young coaches in the NFL. I think we'd be lucky to catch him at this stage of his career since we would still be a promotion for him...not going to be that way for long. Nothing is ever certain in coaching, but I am certain that he and his family would see MSU as a destination job and not a stepping stone.

Same. I would love to be able to take that gamble, but I don't think we can afford to do it. Need to see some meaningful college/recruiting experience.

This is a name I’m really intrigued by. If we are in fact going to hire a new coach, I don’t see how Cohen doesn’t at least interview the guy. A guy who has coached under the greatest nfl head coach of all time for this long with MSU connections? He has to get a phone call. If he’s good enough to coach for the New York football Giants he’s good enough for us.

Matt Patricia coached under the same "greatest nfl head coach of all time" for 14 seasons and is 9-22-1 in 2 seasons w/ the Lions as HC

Stricklin leaving will forever be a huge kick in the nuts. Still can't believe MSU alum, and son-in-law of Bailey Howell left for another SEC school

Not to mention Charlie Weiss, Romeo Cremmel, and others. I can’t think of a successful head coach that has come from Belichick.

I will forever believe that Strick left for Florida only to get the experience necessary to become SEC commish. He would NEVER have been in consideration if he had stayed at State. We don't have enough Olympic sports or a big enough budget. In the end, if my theory is realized, it can only be good for us.

I think he for sure deserves a phone call. Working under saban and belicheck are the best to work under. And he’s been promoted twice under belicheck. It is a gamble with the experience so I don’t believe it would happen.

We can discuss taking gambles all day long

But the biggest gamble on the board is the decision to keep Joe Moorhead.

This fanbase needs a shot of adrenaline. Otherwise, this time around Oct 1st (possibly sooner), it will be very ugly.

Is our current status even at a place where we can salvage it with JOMO? Here is a bit of obvious news....6-6 next year won't do it. What will?

We were much closer to 4-8 this year than we were 7-5.

I think Brian Flores, HC of the Dolphins, will break the streak of bad coaches from the Belichick tree. Very impressed with the job he did at Miami this year.

Completely misguided...the Giants are 5th in Superbowl wins (tied with the Packers) behind Patriots, Steelers, Niners and Cowboys. And what is that you were saying of this NFL franchise?

If the choice is joe judge, we need to stick with Moorhead.

That’s not an indictment of judge but his experience.

That would be the most Mississippi State thing ever.
