Can someone explain the juco ranking system? I'm kind of confused how a player ranked in the top 2 or 3 at their position is a 3 star?

For that psn in the JUCO ranks, the #2/3 prospect is rated a 3*.

IMO no service does a good job with Jucos

YEARS ago Scout had an entire section dedicated to Juco (did that better than high school I thought) but that went by the wayside

Way back when JUCO's were way over valued. Remember 5-stars like Andre Jones, Zach Bowman and Steve Octavien? And high 4-stars like Tomerlin, Wilson and Hardy? Now it seems like they don't have enough value.

One expert from 24/7 or Scout said recently that they are really not giving out as many stars to jucos this year. Kind of a philosophical decision.

It’s pretty simple. Just cuz you’re ranked number 1 or 2 doesn’t mean you’re allocated a 5*. There isn’t a number of 5, 4, or 3* given. It’s truly based on talent. Bell is number 1 per JUCO but he’s still a 3*.
