True or not, as I didn’t research it more, but a quick search said that with ACL surgery, if you come back before 9 months then you have a 51% chance to injure the knee again sometime in the next two years. Not worth it. Wait till 9 months is up which is through December of if I saw correctly.

What a stupid statement. Did it sound better when it was in your head ? lol
I'm a bit concerned as well. Not because of anything sinister with JQ like it was with Sharpe but because his knee might just need more time.
I really hope this guy can play and help us even in short bursts.
There is lots of discussion about his NBA career and protecting that. I can't blame him for that but if he doesn't play, we need to take a hard look at bringing in high caliber guys who are hurt. Makes me think he just might take a pass on playing.

I 100% think JQ will play as soon as he is cleared to go. I am not worried about it either way. On the remote chance he doesn't, we just beat the #1 team in the country without our starting PG, we will still be a tough out

Your statement is a sensible one . Saying ā€œwe spent all that money ā€œ and accusing CMP of doing something that sleezebag Calipari did when there is absolutely zero basis is not .

Yeah this is my concern as well. At the end of the day, it's a business decision for JQ, and knee issues are not something to be taken lightly...especially with bigs.

I have no idea what we paid him. I do know CMP isn’t stupid. I doubt there isn’t a clause in there to protect UK against a Sharpe deception. Pope is too smart for that. I don’t run Cal down but his priorities were different. Pope is all about #9.

The Sharpe situation has nothing to do with this. He wasn’t hurt.

This stands on its own. I think if he’s medically cleared to play then he should play.

And not before.

Coaches take more than that into consideration.

DA was medically cleared. But Pitino didn’t play him.

I think JQ wants to play as soon as he can. DA wanted to play.

No one knows how this is going to go. Including the coaching staff.

How much he’s getting in NIL money will have no bearing either.

I never see this discussed, but even if he can play, will he be important at that point? He's going to be way behind in terms of coaching, practicing, jelling with the team. I understand people want to see what he can do, but throwing a new piece into a well oiled machine might not work out as glowingly as most people seem to expect.

I never said that JQ would sit out the year, but their has been infirmation on you tube that he may not play. I was just asking if anyone had information saying that is not the case. I have been a kentyvky fan all my life.

Gotta be careful about believing all the ā€œinfirmationā€ about ā€œkentyvkyā€ that you find on ā€œyou tubeā€. There’s a lot of people who will make a story out of anything for clicks.

That’s a fair point. Coaches are way more conservative on that stuff than they should be.

They act like basketball is rocket surgery. 😁

And it’s far less important for a guy like JQ.

He doesn’t need plays run for him. He will fit in.

Talking about Derek Anderson, how on earth was he cleared so quick after his injury ? That has to be some kind of record lol. I never understood that

After seeing Moreno I’m not worried anymore. He will hold it down until JQ returns or don’t return.

Yeah Moreno looked good. First thing I look for in a big man is eye brows . Davis had the brow , Malachi has this Bert and Ernie thing idk lol
šŸ˜‚from just the small amount I seen he just understands basketball. Seemed to know where to be at and how to use his big body. Really understands spacing and seems to play above the rim. He might be better than JQ who knows.

I was watching on my phone so I couldn’t see the brows that good but I trust you

In hindsight it sure looks like it.

Pitino was probably right to not play him. But supposedly DA was going full out in practice.

I think Moreno and JQ can give different dimensions to our team

Moreno'a feel around basket is better than JQ

But JQ is better at defense

They are good at different things
