We were forced to max protect because the O-line refused to run block, and was horrendous at pass blocking. You are 100% correct here. Langsdorf had his hands tied because of the horrid line play.
I will be severely disappointed in the new staff if Gates is starting at LT next year. He is awful, and Foster not much better. Decker was the only one of them who looked good at times.
I wonder what the deal is with Gates - lack of effort, lack of ability or poor coaching. He certainly talked a good talk before the season started.

I suspect largely blocking scheme and resultant frustration. At times we ran the ball well behind him but he's probably better suited to play guard. He's still potentially a really good player and it will be interesting to see what he can do with Austin as his coach. I'm hopeful that Frost's offense will be friendly to our O line. Clean slate for all our guys and we need to try to wipe any bad mojo from our minds we might have for individual guys.

Let's think this through just a bit. Some and I mean, very few TE's are "in the slot" that often. Most of the time they come from the traditional TE position.

I'd have to say that our TE's will be in the H-back position most of the time..

I have no problems if you want to draw attention to yourself via your appearance. But you better be able to back it up on the field- otherwise you just look like a silly attention *****. Big Hat no cattle is no way to go through life.

When I played we had a kid who was a 3rd teamer who wore a bandana, painted up his face, painted his shoes up before every game and had this crossbones rag he wore out of his pants. We joked that he was putting on his "costume" because he never played enough to even have to shower after games- he was out there to say he was part of the team- not to compete. Not a fan of that.
