Isn't the biggest loss in terms of he wasn't a top 50-100 recruit but he is an instate kid who played for St Pats so this cant be good

Still, 4-star point guards don't grow on trees. He should have no problem landing somewhere. The kid had a nice offer list last year.

Maybe he thought that guy who had committed to Arizona was going to sign.

I have strong thoughts about what Rutgers should do (actually not do) with this guy. However, given that Pikiell thread I am keeping quiet.

They have Nelson coming in next year another 4 star pg. diff style then Nelson. They also have Cuse transfer Thompson coming in. They’ll be fine.

Let’s focus on us. Weird scenario if he quit due to us if you keep in mind he legit was injured and just cleared on the day or a few days prior to the 16th for action.

"But Walker, who prior to Saturday had been sidelined for a month by torn ligaments in his hand, had been a handful for the Pirates’ coaching staff behind the scenes since he arrived on campus, according to multiple people familiar with the program’s inner workings."

No thanks.

Exactly. As much as we'd like to think that the SHU coaching staff is losing their grip on things, the fact is that there are always players who don't necessarily like to be coached. You just hope that your own team doesn't get one. I don't automatically think it's the coaches when I hear about a player's departure. Even Tom Savage said he made a mistake (due to his admitted immaturity) by leaving RU, despite having made it to the NFL.

You can build a winning Big East team around Powell and Cale. That’s a solid BE backcourt. Sounds like they didn’t try real hard to stop him.

Neither one of those players is a Point Guard. I think they viewed Walker as their PG of the future, as he was supposed to be Carrington's understudy this year.

Make no mistake about it, this is a BIG loss for SHU.

im pretty sure they didnt want him to leave when hes the only true point guard on the roster and they now have 9 eligible players. what would happen if carrington tore his acl next game?

I believe they have solid NJ PG recruit coming in next year

He hurts them this season for depth purposes, but he wasn't going to be a factor next year, they have Nelson who is more of a combo guard and 6'2 and a better all around player.....Walker is a legitimate PG, a jitterbug, undersized quick point guard, but I don't see him guarding anyone in this type of conference (B1G), so he's a limited player at Power 5 type of programs.....he would probably have a role in the Big East as most schools that don't have the types of programs RU has to face in the B1G......You might give up more points than you get with that type of size playing a lot of minutes.

They also have the other transfer as a combo guard (edited from Sacred Heart and not Quinnipiac), so they have 3 guards in place already (Powell, McKnight, Nelson).....Walker was going to be their 4th guard (to me) on paper....his "ranking" is extremely subjective, but not sure he is more than a situational 10-12 minute a game type of player at most programs.

I know SHU thought he would be their PG for the next 3 years. This must be quite a shock for them. McKnight I believe is from Sacred Heart. I think the other Quinnipiac transfer might be at St. John's but I could be wrong.

So he was whinny and moody, and complained about fouls, and talked trash, and was being chippy taking cheap shots at players and mascots, and stopped playing hard when his emotions were amped up... Oh, wait ...that describes Delgado and Rodriguez.

I find it funny you guys over here want him all of the sudden after the crap some of you said about him in one of the threads for the Seton Hall game, oh how perspectives change quickly when you want something.

I don't want him either. I want guards that are longer in length. We don't need anyone to create chemistry problems on our team.

thinkin' small at seton hall yet again, lol...

they will implode again in the NCAA 1st round, like htey have the past 2 years, losing as a 6 and 8 seed, and like how they lost to us a few days ago...

why would Powell want to be the only one left next year holding the bags? he can do much better than shoe...

Powell would be a stud elsewhere on a team without all those superheroes
Side note - how terrible did Delgado look with his back to the basket??? Does the guy score all of his points off put backs and layups?
