I envision him as a more offensively skilled Mag. Just not as elite on defense but seems like he will get after it..

I think Derkack, and Martini, will bring intangibles and toughness to the team that will surprise people next year. I see them as glue guys who on occasion can have a big game. We still also have Acuff and Hayes added to the roster, to go with Ace and Dylan added to the roster……can’t wait for the season to start next year…….

I know his three point shooting percentage was low but his form is pretty good.
I agree. Both 3s were catch and shoot, so it’s possible that he is a better catch and shooter than off the dribble.

And being a scorer at Merrimack, Jordan could have been relied upon to shoot more off the dribble there, where at Rutgers I expect he will be able to be more discerning with his shot selection.

I've said it before. Ultimately Pike will start who he starts but if Derkack is starting and is our 5th offensive option and providing the kind of D he can - we are going to be a pretty good team.

One thing to add, with Jordan and the rest of our team’s length and ball handling at guard and wing, a lot of our defensive rebounds can start our fast break to get some easier baskets before the opposing D sets up.

Derkack seems unlikely to start. And even if he did, he would not be the 5th scoring option in a starting line-up (because Ogbole is the likely center, and would be the 5th option any time he is on the floor). So, unfortunately, that will not be a measure of how good the team will be.

Geo Baker was probably a better off the dribble step back trey shooter than off a catch and shoot which is certainly not typical since the puppies have to get sorted.

100%.

Shooters like Geo typically get a rhythm by dribbling that helps the rhythm of their shot.

It is so idiosyncratic.
