I didn't see that he said that, but you're right that he's probably thinking that direction. Why not? But does he only want a storied program, or might he like the idea of building something? The usual gang here will insist Rutgers can't afford him as a way of preserving the status quo. Unless the "it's too hard, we can't do it" attitude changes, it'll remain true. Get Elon in here to cancel waste, and lots of money will suddenly be found. But the one thing that is more likely than anything else: Rutgers will never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
Seems like he wants to live in or near NJ and wants to raise his kids around here so if a donor gave him big check like they did for Taylor I believe he’d do it…if it’s something Rutgers really wants it’s plan they’d have to put together sooner rather then later. Only other school close to Nj I could see laying out the red carpet for him is Lehigh

JB confirming publicly what he has been saying privately for the last year or so. As I previously advised JB would take the Rutgers job under the right circumstances. Frankly, JB would be a huge upgrade over Goodale.

Waiting for SCNJ to start whining.
Your obsession with me is hilarious. Almost all of your interactions on this board are responses to things I’ve said. You must live a very eventful life to be this caught up in some stranger on the internet.

If you think I’d be upset about us hiring Burroughs you’re out to lunch. You’re also delusional if you think it’s going to happen.

Sounds like he's very interested, if a school and boosters are willing to pay him $1M+ and give him almost unlimited funds for assistants, wrestlers and an RTC, like OKST is giving Taylor.
He said he wasn’t looking at David Taylor’s salary as a reason to get into coaching

This says otherwise, "you need money"... His comment was that he didn't need to get into coaching because he needed $.

Don't flatter yourself. Go back and read your posts during this thread.

Up until this interview and podcast, everything he’s ever said was that he wasn’t interested in coaching. Plenty people here backed that up. Maybe since then his opinion changed. I’m still skeptical he will ever be a head coach. He has the accolades, he deserves whatever someone will pay him, but he’s still speaking cryptically rather than outright saying he’s interested in pursuing it.

My only post regarding Burroughs prior to this rehashing were that he’s said he’s not interested in coaching, and up until this week that seemed to be true. But again, keep spending your free time obsessing over what I say. I love it.

Name goody as co-ad and co-wrestling coach for 1-2 years and name Burroughs co-head coach and then best of both worlds

One area that is not discussed but where Goodale is an abject failure is the recruiting of diverse athletes and coaches. JB would definitely help with the recruitment of diverse athletes. Besides Glasglow, the Van Brills and the current recruit Gibson no other diverse athletes come to mind.
I would’ve agree with you maybe a couple of years ago but last year Goodale brought in mason gibson and Ayden smith who are both black, Andrew Barbosa who is Mexican and this year he has Jordan Chapman and Tahir Parkins who are also both black. I think that’s pretty diverse

The name of the game for AD's now is raising funds and NIL. This is not Goodale's strong suit, as he struggles to raise money. Schiano is raising all types of money for his war chest, so it can be done.
