Read the on3 report posted on KSR where Wheeler addresses all issues. It was released on 03/16/23.

I don't believe it. Why would Cal want to be liable for a player and pay his traveling expenses if the player has quit the team? Cal has done a lot of stupid things, but I believe this is even beneath him. Also, why would Wheeler want to be around the team if had quit?
Free meals free gear free room and board 1st class travel and a big fat NIL check

Does Shady Sharpe ring a bell?
How about Terrence Jones 3 month ankle sprain?

It makes no logical sense but Cal runs this like a do what you want player first program to this extreme.

We actually had people not understand this.

He quit because he didn’t want to play in a lesser role. Calipari let him handcuff the team to collect NIL money and not jeopardize portal recruiting. It’s that simple.

Wheeler should have been told to hit the street and walk back to Georgia. At some point you have to get control of your team and teach respect.

I’m sick of this clown act.

There is no respect. Cal is using the program and the fanbase to him and his ''kids'' benefit.

People wheeler is jumping up and down on the sideline. He’s not hurt. Look at the timing of when he quit. It’s NOT HARD to understand this.

Those that refuse are being obtuse and sticking with a script. End it.

Wheeler should have been kicked off the team and a point should have been sent to the rest. You don’t control this program. This is another reason why we keep losing. We’re teaching them to be brats and pussies. I’m sorry enough is enough. Ban me.

Get A COACH in charge to set the table and get this weak ******** out of here. They have parents, he’s not a parent. He’s our coach, and it’s time he either realize it or straight up be fired. Contract aside.

No way, he sprained his ankle a month and a half ago
T. Clarke was out for 3 months with a sprained ankle.
J. Vanderbilt was out all but like 5 games because of whatever.
Wheeler is out 1.5 months with a sprained ankle.
Q. Green quits 5 games into the season.
Dragon quits 5 games into the season.
C. Fletcher was injured/suspended/grounded, never came back, who the hell knows.
S. Sharpe never plays a game.

Mysterious injuries that nobody with half a brain would buy. Several others straight up leave the team early in the season. Some chose not to play at all.

Looks like we have a cultural issue.

@IL Wildcat

What are your thoughts at this point? Or you’re still in “wait and see” mode?
I'll tell you cincy, you can kiss my butt. Those are my thoughts at this point. Now, shame me for being a mod. How dare I actually hope for the best for one of the players on my favorite team? Right? I should right him off as an evil Benedict Arnold just like you. Sorry, not giving you the satisfaction. You can come visit me and we can talk about it, though. Stop calling me out. That's my last word on the topic.

Edit: it's good for everyone here you aren't the moderator with the way you attack people. If the tables were turned, how much patience would you have with me? Now, keep that in mind.

Yep. Been an issue for a while. Sharpe should have ended Calipari’s time here. He’s allowing the program to tank for the players.

Enough is enough. He’s arrogant and personally there should be a case made that he’s not fulfilled his contract obligations. He needs to be fired. Go to court or settle. Something needs to be done.

And that is about as hard core as a preacher will get.

Although, my family was old school. There was a preacher at first Baptist church in dyerbsurg (maybe you’ve heard of him) Brother Boston. and he did the old fashioned house calls. He told me one time to get my *** home and I thought that was worse than the police arresting me. It was the 90’s so I was raised more like it was the 60’s.

I don’t even think preachers do house calls like that anymore.

But wheeler did quit. And no I’m not coming to see you and throwing fist over it!

I appreciate ILLs passion over this, he just won’t see the truth here. He’s been hardcore all over anyone who hasn’t thought Wheeler should be the starting PG all year long. The heels are too dug in at this point to pull them out.

I like IL; he’s a good man. He means well.

But he was very obtuse over Wheeler all year. He’s been wrong start to finish, and I wish he’d just do the right thing here and admit it. But he’s in so deep I feel he just can’t do it.

I wish he would. He’s always been more reasonable.

I said this earlier today about it

if he did quit, its not going to be kept a secret.

I'm not saying he did, I would find it surprising actually, but you can't hide that.

Here’s how you know Calipari fakes injuries and lies about players’ status.

Duke and Kansas haven’t had a single incident like we have with a player that I’ve found going back 6 years.

Exactly, mysterious mid-season injuries really were never a thing for us except maybe Vanderbilt. Especially multiple players dragging out over months. The last two years are not normal and I’m not buying the CCC narrative.

Yeah, I don't appreciate being called out. And if he came to visit, or you for that matter, talking is all it would be. I truly believe most folks would never speak to people in person the way they post on here. That's the difference between me and most. What you get from me is who I am every day and I don't treat people any differently here. Cincy here has been calling me out on this, I believe this is the third time. It's a bad idea to call out anyone here but especially bad to do it to a moderator.

Wheeler may have quit. It certainly appears more likely now than not. I am not happy with him. That's what I will say. If I could talk to him, I would ask him about it, heart to heart, if he would tell me. I have no clue if he would give me the time of day, but I'd love to know his perspective. And I would have compassion on him whatever the answer.

You know what I mean by those house calls preachers used to make? My grandparents would call the preacher on me lol. And did you ever know a Brother Boston at first Baptist church / Dyerbsurg? Just curious.

Appreciate you saying it appears that way with wheeler.

I didn't know him but I do know what you mean by preachers making "house calls." There was a time when the local preacher was a significant authority in a family's life. And if you had a wayward kid and wanted someone to scare him straight, the preacher could come threaten him with hell, basically. I didn't think much of that then and don't think much of it now, either. Now, I'm not above speaking to someone about the seriousness of sin and praying with them, hoping for them to turn from it. I just had a conversation with a teenage guy tonight at our youth meeting about that. It was a really good conversation. I encouraged him to pray about it and talk to his dad about it- it is a typical guy's struggle. 🙂

The heat around Cal has only gotten hotter these last three seasons. But if it comes out that Wheeler legit quit and Cal covered for him, I don’t see how he survives this off-season. It would be 9 win season, followed by a loss to a 15 seed, then followed by being preseason FF favorites to 12 losses, and then mix in the Sharpe ordeal and now possibly Wheeler.

I know he has the buyout, but I legit don’t see how any coach survives that ****.

I’m a therapists so, I agree with you. And it didn’t work either, he was called when they found cigarettes in my room. I still have a smoke from time to time 😃

Holy cow?!

I tagged you to get your take given the fact the dude didn’t play in either tourney game. I didn’t come after you or insult or mock you. Others in this thread have.

Strange scenario , but hes not going do it .. I think he even said if he didnt play by the end of the year he would admit he quit .. if he didnt my apologies ,
Furthermore Ill' says he doesnt appreciate being called out as a mod ... but again I think he has said he has every right to post as a regular poster .. cant have it both ways ... whatever Wheeler quit , its more obvious than 1 plus 1

I don't appreciate the call out, for the 3rd time now. I gave my opinion on Wheeler just a couple posts above. Felt like an attack. Maybe I misread it.
