Will he get a hero's welcome?
Hero's welcome is a reach by any stretch of the imagination. Why would any visiting player from the opponent get that? Just like any player on the opposing team. Besides it's not like he's gonna be introduced to the crowd over the P.A. system.

I am amazed at the hypocrisy of people on this board who easily recognized that Ash was a disaster that was only making us worse over time, yet think it is disgraceful that Jackson saw the same thing and decided to salvage what was left of his chance to play competitive college football.

i don't really care either way. I just have a tough time blaming a kid for leaving a chris ash coached team though when you see the success kids had leaving him

Disgraceful
No loyalty anymore
Kids today do not appreciate anything you do for them.
He should be ashamed to come out of the locker room.

Right. Stay loyal and look out for everyone else even if they don't give a crap about you and take advantage of you. Stick with a coach & school that is a dumpster fire & doesn't really support the program. Cool.

He is going to be a BIG TEN Champion and then play for a national Championship. He also has improved his draft positioning by going to Ohio. This kid made the best decision of any college football player in the country.
Would you leave your job for a better opportunity?

So, the OSU team physician who abused players (wrestlers, others?) was watching out for the team.

Let's have all the best players each year play for the one team (Alabama, Duke, Patriots, Yankees ) ...and leave the scraps for the other teams.

Loyalty is earned / rewarded. Jackson earned his C (Captain) and then became a traitor.
IMO I couldn't care less what happens to him now....I root for the TRUE team in Scarlet: RUTGERS. Period!

Any chance a backup lineman at Ohio State would transfer to Rutgers for a starting role for a chance to showcase his ability? Don’t hold your breath.

Right!!! He was a Captain. A leader of this team. I teach leadership, and one of the tenants of Leadership is Loyalty and Self-Sacrifice for the betterment of the team.

Look, no one is sending out a welcome wagon, but he dedicated 4 years to this program, graduated on time and had the opportunity to start for a program that looks bound for a B1G and potentially National Championship. How many players ever get that opportunity? He’s obviously a great player and it would be nice to have him on our side. However he’s not so he’s irrelevant to me but the guy has nothing to apologize for.

Just goes to show how bad it was here. Now he’s probably going to play for National Championship.
The problem I have with him when he was interviewed by BIG Network and asked if it was a tough decision for him to leave. His reply “not at all” c’mon man.
He didn’t think twice. To me that’s troubling.
Who remembers Mike Fullman ? Transferred to Nebraska and played for a National Championship team in 19995. It is what it is!
Don’t remember guys bailing on Schianos teams.

Jonah played 4 years and earned his degree. The team went 1-11 last year with him on the team, if he stayed was Rutgers going to miraculously go bowling this year?

Ray Rice and Mohamed Sanu were both leaders and both left after 3 years without graduating. If they stayed for their senior years Rutgers most likely wins the Big East and plays in a BCS bowl in 2008 and 2012. By your logic they should have stayed for their senior year since their self-sacrifice would have been for the betterment of the team.

Yeah like Kevin Durant joining the Warriors. And then he left because he realized they won without him so in reality he can think he was part of it all but they didn’t need him nor love him the way they did the original crew.

There's a difference playing for pay in the NFL ….vs. playing against your team in the same conference / division.

PS R U still in touch with Tom Savage? Hope he's doing well. He was one of my favorites.

He's starting for OSU and drawing interest from the NFL. HE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION.

Maybe, we will see.
However. I don’t think he is a leader.
If I was interviewing him, that would be my first question. As a leader on your team, how can you reconcile leaving your team for a direct competitor team?
