I was in Cresco, IA on Monday for their Hall of Fame banquet. If you haven't been it's a great way to spend $40.

Anyways, when Jon was giving his speech he mentioned that he sustained a head injury that kept him out of competition for a couple years while working with the HWC. I then saw he had posted a lengthy Facebook post about being injured while working out with Royce Alger and his road to forgiveness.

Anyways...doesn't anyone remember more details on what happened?

Yeah, there is definitely a story there about Royce and his behavior......

I assumed as much. It must be pretty embarrassing for Gable to have felt it appropriate to ask Jon if he had a problem with Alger being in the same building 20 years later and for there to be zero details beyond "suffered a head injury".

If any of you guys are in the area, the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in Cresco is another nice place to visit. Like the Gable Museum in Waterloo, it reminds us of our long wrestling heritage in our state. When you wrestle in Iowa, you wrestle supported by 100+ years of tough competitors.
