He would be a great pickup. We need to keep upgrading the RB position.

Rewatched the spring game yesterday and wasn't impressed at all by the depth we have there.

Nebraska's running backs will go:

Mills/Washington followed by Rahmir Johnson

Bivens won't crack that depth chart. He will be redshirting anyway.

Oh I understand that. I was specifically referring to him to upgrade our depth at the position.
It is our second tier if you will, or what I would politely call "depth" that I was referring to needing an upgrade.

And we know how well you analyze running backs, don't we? You had Ozigbo at the bottom of the depth chart, behind everyone but the janitor, you dope. RollingLaughAnyone that knew anything about RBs knew that Ozigbo had the best burst of any of the RBs going through the hole, from the time he was a sophomore.

But then again, you also said that coaching has nothing to do with pass rush. Jeesh man, where do you come up with this stuff??

1. My bad, if Alex Davis had a better coach, he could become Randy Gregory.

2. The Nebraska coaches had Devine Ozigbo 3rd string as well for three weeks. Going into week one of 2019 the depth chart will be Mills or Washington and then Rahmir Johnson. If somebody else works their *** off to overcome the rest of them, then more power to the dude.

Speaking of the RB room. Any news or updates on Washington's legal status? I apologize if I missed it. Is he just waiting for another court date?

If Bivens makes it to campus, that provides more depth and if he can be healthy, he makes the position better.

Frustrating thing is, that injury makes those two “ifs” big.

Wherever he goes hope he is healthy

With the exception of Mo, Bivens might have the biggest upside of all the RB's we have on the roster....assuming he can overcome his injury.

You all remember Tracy wistrom before his knee injury and after and more glaring is Matt herrian, he was never even remotely close to what he was before he broke his leg, hopefully Blevins can over come his only time will tell

Most of the time, the problem is psychological, not physical. Some guys can't get over the mental barrier of being injured and trusting their repaired knee or are afraid of injuring it again. Plenty of players have made it back to being as good as before, or at least very close.

Besides, Herian broke his tibia. Not even close to the same thing. I don't recall the specifics of Wistrom's injury.

I wouldn’t mind adding Bivens at all. Give Duvall some time with him and see if he can’t get him top notch again. The young man before his injury was definitely a 4 star type talent.

No one is saying Alex Davis can become Randy Gregory. But he can become the best version of Alex Davis that he can become with good technique being taught to him, and his ability to get to the QB can be improved. That's the point...good coaching and technique can take an athletic player and improve their abilities that much more. Especially when the predecessor to Chinander, Bob Diaco, was terrible at teaching technique.

If I remember correctly, your RB comments were from 2017, when you had Ozigbo way down on the depth chart, behind Bryant and Wilbon. I think you said something along the lines of "Ozigbo can't hold Bryant's jock" or something along those lines. Granted, Bryant was an underclassmen, but he never had the burst through the line that Ozigbo had. Even when he was healthy. Ozigbo's greatest problem was top-end speed prior to last year, but he was always an aggressive runner that ran with intent.

At any rate, none of us are experts at this stuff, but most of us realize that and don't prop ourselves up as such. If you practice that approach, you don't end up with egg on your face.

You can put Thompkins in that category too. I recently heard that Urbz tried to flip him even after the injury, RT said no chance.

I was the one always expecting Wilbon to break out. I was wrong. He never seemed to put it together mentally.

To me, I just never saw the burst from him that I like seeing when a RB runs through the hole. He may have had the athletic ability, but just wasn't very decisive.
