I listened to him the other day. I thought it was good information. Surprisingly, Ricky Maddow had a good guest on her show that was debunking a lot of the quarantining myths. It's worth watching.

Summary

There is no stopping it. If you smoke, are fat or old, you’re screwed. If you don’t fall into those categories, you’ll be fine. Kids will be fine and shutting down schools will make things worse.

Also, we need to kill a whole lot more deer than we are, but don’t eat them.

The guy on the Rogan podcast was the first I’ve heard suggest that deer with chronic wasting disease shouldn’t be eaten. I think the department of wildlife stance is that it’s not harmful for humans, unlike mad cow disease.

Part of his point is that is that the prions continue to mutate and mad cow didn’t transfer to humans until it did. I’m not saying that it will but it is a theory worth researching.

Informative podcast, long, alarming

main takeaways

this is just the beginning
China’s numbers will increase again
and if I didn’t have enough to worry about I am now more worried about CWD

I wonder where he’s getting his information from? Saying china’s numbers will increase again when they are taking drastic measures to stop the spreading and will have to do so to eradicate it. He or no one else can absolutely predict that.

If I remember correctly he said that China’s numbers will increase again once their restrictions ease up

Another important point that I left out is the testing that was done that showed that CWD wasn’t transferring to humans was done 20 years ago and because the prions mutate we need current testing. But probably the most alarming fact is the length of incubation of up to 10 years. We might know a person had been infected until 10 years later and that deer might not show any signs of being infected.

This makes sense. I’d be real nervous about eating deer that had CWD anyway.

I am nervous too but I am assuming that if meat that i have in the freezer has CWD and if it's prions have mutated in such a way that it I can be infected then I am already screwed. So I might as well eat it. Next year is a different story.
