I'm rooting for them. Hope they make a comeback. Van Wetzinga as well. Obviously they are getting stomped. But go former Hawks.

Was he better than McNamara or Hill?

Won a bowl game for Iowa too. Yes, it was a depleted Kentucky team that had a lot of players opt out but it’s still a W. I still have no clue how he didn’t see the field over Bacon Hill. Joey must of pissed KF off something fierce.

Also, Minny vs NMU, Nestor playing for Minny and Keegan Johnson playing wide receiver for the Lobos. So KJ was at Iowa, then kSU, now New Mexico. Kid’s a train wreck.

No clue?

Surely you've heard the rumors

I only watched the first half.
He gifted Northwestern 3 TDs with his 3 fumbles. I believe all within the CM 30 yard line. Stats mean very little when you are down 34 -0 in the third quarter and NW give everyone a chance to play in the bowl game.

Adding up everything that we know, and that we may know, there's a very clear most likely choice as to what happened
Even if the pot narrative is true, do you think he is the only Iowa player to use it in his time there? Or even the only QB to use it?

I remember Petras giving OSU like 5 in Iowa territory the first half. One or two might have been Padilla though.

The problem is when you play a position of leadership and supposedly are showing up late for meetings.

Playing a guy like that can compromise a program at its core.

There is no choice in a situation like that

I never thought he was the answer at QB. There is always an element on the forum that throws crap out there related to character issues anytime a guy leaves the program. The most likely reason he left is that he believed he would have a better chance seeing the field somewhere else. Seems it worked out best for both parties. I see no need to impugn some 20-year-old's character to feel better about the team I root for.

I agree. That's why I've chosen to refrain from specifically accusing Labas of anything or even spelling out the rumors.

But again, the calculus seems quite straight forward.

And for you to have said you have "no clue" why Labas didn't play over Hill, is to imply something all together different, yet inconsiderate just the same, and just as easily refrained from

Read better. It wasn't me that said that. But it wouldn't be out of line to question why almost anyone didn't play over Deacon.

Ahh yes, it was Outback who claimed, "no clue." My mistake.

The conversation was Labas (not anyone else) vs Hill. And again, it's clear what the most likely reasoning was for Hill having played over Labas.

As for others, Lainez was the only other guy in the picture. And it was also obvious why he did not play.

Yes, questioning a coaching staff about their decisions pertaining to their team, is almost always "out of line." It is always choosing to back the least legitimate argument on the table.

This stuff isn't hard

It must be comforting to live in the flat version of the Earth you inhabit. Hill was 3rd string at Utah Tech after he left Iowa. UTAH F*CKING TECH! The coaching staff has earned every bit of criticism that has been directed at them regarding QB decisions.

Not at all.

I feel sorry for you.

Fans have been completely out of line with this narrative. Embarrassing behavior.

I'm not going to break this all down AGAIN. But what you say is simply wrong

Don't need your sympathy. Coaches are no different than people in leadership positions anywhere in the workplace: their decisions and performance is and always has been subject to scrutiny and criticism. I know your position is that the O line was so hopelessly broken that no one could have succeeded at QB and in your mind the QB's only purpose is to hand the ball off. Literally every other team in scholarship football had better QB play than Iowa since 2021. MG made the offense serviceable this year mostly because of the threat of him tucking the ball and running. That was never an option for the past decade even though every other team in football could make it happen. KF deserves every bit of criticism he has received over QB play.

That's sad.

Not only are you wrong on the Deacon Hill conversation, but you're now doubling down and calling out KF in other QB conversations. Smh.

No need for the mischaracterization either
