It is unlikely that Nebraska will be able to secure the commitment of an experienced P5 quarterback to replace Chubba Purdy. How about we pursue a backup quarterback that has good size at 6’4”, 213#, was a high 3 star prospect from Ohio and never got the chance to showcase his skills at Iowa.
Joe Labas has one career start at the 2022 Music City Bowl where he went 14-24 with 1 TD and NO TURNOVERS.
If you watch highlights from this game, he appears to be a game manager with good QB skills and good movement in the pocket.
Do you think he would enjoy the opportunity to show Iowa what they could have had at quarterback?

Unless he routinely had multiple unforced turnovers, we don't want him as our #3.
