I know the basketball coaches and football coaches also use a competitor charter company of my place of employment quite a bit as well. A lot of times, when they charter a bird, that’s paid for by the athletic department.

If I had to guess, when they fly the Craft’s plane, that is considered a donation by the Craft’s and flown under part 91 regulations rather than part 135 regs.

Do we think the fan vitriol will ever come for the crafts (who now have a coach they can control after beefing with cal, and hug our players before games like they own them)?
Anyone going at our primary boosters should be ostracized from the fanbase harshly and immediately. People like the Crafts are our only hope of continued relevance given our financial situation. They literally pay to keep the lights on and most of us (me included) don’t have the pockets to replace them.

Didn’t the athletic dept recently purchase a private jet? I thought they did at least. Expensive toy.

I doubt the Crafts hear it or care about anything from the fans. I know I wouldn’t. They are also republicans so they have thick skin.

Eh. It seems the more powerful and wealthy you are the thinner your skin is by and large. Also that applies regardless of political affiliation and our current occupant of the white house isn't exactly one to accept criticism with a sense of humor.

Mostly joking and I love Trump but agree. But where would they really hear the noise? I highly doubt they post or read here or even know what here is. I’m sure they are around a bunch of yes people that just tell them their **** doesn’t stink. I don’t really care as long as they keep pumping the money into UK.

Colleges are lucky I’m not a billionaire cause we would have 5 stars on the scout squad with the money I’d be throwing around.

The Crafts never had a problem with Cal.

They still keep in contact with Cal now.

That was just more Matt jones BS.

Do people who own people typically hug them?

The Crafts have done so much for UK and we’re blessed to have them as boosters. Only way I see a fan trashing them on here is if they are trolls.

This again?
No I’m being serious. Are you more of a football fan than basketball or vice versa? Years ago I went to an Ohio state game. I’m a bigger college football fan than basketball myself. I’ve always loved both sports but I watch more football than basketball

Trump has dealt with more personal attacks than anyone on the face of the Earth in the last 10 years and multiple attempts at his life. You couldn’t handle .0001% of the crap he has been put thru on the daily.

I've never been to an Ohio State football game. I went to a Coastal Carolina game a couple of years ago because someone gave me tickets. I don't really even think about OSU until the season starts.
On the flip side, there's not a room in our house without something UK in it. There's a Kentucky shower curtain and gnome in the main bathroom. There's an autographed MKG basketball, and a pocket knife with Pitino's image engraved on the blade on display in the guest bedroom. I have stacks of hats, I have a pullover Starter coat from 91 that still has the creases on the sleeves from the packaging. I wore it once and it burned me up. I need to be able to open a coat, I run hot. I have Kentucky Hey Dudes, a pair of Nike, and a pair of AF Ones that turned out to be counterfeit. They look cool though, and have a story. On and on it goes.
I have a couple of OSU shirts. And not much more.
As I said, you've been to more OSU games than I have. I have been to Rupp twice. I've been in the blue mob at USC junior around 6 times. I was there Billg Clyde's last game there, and Cals first one. I was at the Yum Center for the first 2 rounds in 2012.
So, it's safe to say I'm a Kentucky basketball fan above all other sports.

I used to go to a lot of uk games but I haven’t been in a few years. I’m definitely going to catch a few football games this season.

tRump - history will decide the verdict on him.
Yes loving America is worth his life. This is why the left is nuts. He wants to make America a great country again. You can disagree on how he wants to do that but normal people realize that the left has lost the plot long ago. Examples are everywhere.
Care to enlighten us

Unsure on that. A lot of universities do. Shocked UK doesn’t have one dedicated.
I'm not in the industry but I've heard private planes have to be in near constant use to be more financially prudent than chartering, is that true? I'm sure it depends on many factors, but I wouldn't think the athletic department would need one often enough to justify.

Yea they say that, but I guess it just depends the value one puts on time. If you got an AD who loves the thought of hitting multiple cities in a day, he may be more willing to own an AC. They say 80-100 hours a year is about where you need to be.

The Craft’s used to own a Citation Sovereign. They may still but I know it was on the market a while back so they probably upgraded.

For a Sovereign, 4 hours of flying for a 1 overnight trip will cost the owner ~$10,000 to perform. Chartering that trip as a non owner costs about 25-35k.

Point being, if you know you’re gonna be a plane owner for a long time, might make sense to buy one to avoid charter cost. Lol

I’m guessing well-maintained planes don’t depreciate much. On the other hand the maintenance bills must be a headache. Is that included in your $10k approximation or does that just apply to immediate expenses like fuel, crew, fees, etc?

Mx is an entirely different set of costs in biz av. Probably the biggest chunk of expenses you will have as a plane owner.

The 10k is just the cost to fly that particular trip and includes any expenses associated with it.
