To answer a question in another thread, what has Dylan Raiola proven as a QB so far? Well I think he has shown himself to be a pretty good QB and accurate with the short and medium range passes. He has also led us to a few come-from behind victories which isn’t something we’ve seen around here too often in the last decade or so. But he also has some serious flaws like his deep passing game, lack of pocket awareness, etc. I think k he has a high potential but he needs a better OL and more development to get to where he needs to be.

Which gets me to Joe Burrow. The man has cried and whined a million times about how he wanted to go to Nebraska but we said no. He went on to have an amazing season at LSU which propelled him into the NFL. Do you honestly think he would have achieved all that had he transferred here to dear old Nebraska and spent time under Frost and his crap OL and crap coaching staff? Point is, we did him a favor and he should be giving thanks to us for it on this Thanksgiving day.

As far as Dylan is concerned, other than that laser he threw on the run to the corner of the endzone for the touchdown, his throws are all throws that any competent Division I QB can make. Nothing special.
I've seen multiple QB's this year that throw way the hell better than Dylan. Way better.

Other than the catch and run that turn into a long gainer, without knowing the stats I bet his 25 yard in the air throw numbers are dismal. Forget the high school teams like Akron and HCU.

Spot on. Dylan would have a better chance at several other schools, but that doesn't mean it still can't get done here. Joe Burrow didn't blow up until his fourth year. His junior stats were so-so even playing with Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase and four other NFL skill players.

The point is Dylan is trying to learn the big picture and has had a lot thrown at him. When he gets it (or if), he will carve teams up. Not saying that he's the next Joe Burrow, but that he'll be better as a third & fourth year starter.

Agreed, although on those deeper routes, I think part of it is on timing being piss poor and not always Dylan's fault. The Ohio State's of the world seem to hit those deep routes consistently, but they also have great chemistry between the receivers and quarterback. Dylan seems to have anti-chemistry with the receivers on those longer routes. And sure, part of that is on Dylan himself, but coaching and the overall system plays a big factor in that as well.
