He's not a college head coach candidate. He worked wonders with Joe Burrow and it made him some serious coin and got him back to the NFL as an OC.

Who knows, this article implies his goal is to be a NFL head coach, but why go to college to advance your nfl career? To me, he is simply advancing his career in general by accepting better job offers.
