Well posting the opening on this board is very appropriate. There are several posters here who know football so much better than any active coaches out there (or at least they think so and keep telling us so). I know it would be a huge loss for this board but I'd really, really love to see Iowa hire one of them!

About 20 years ago the NU AD posted a tech position for which I was vaguely qualified. I talked to my boss, and even got glowing letters of recommendation from him as well as our director. I carefully crafted a resume targeting the specific job skills listed in the posting, and submitted my application.
They hired a guy from the Carolina Panthers. Turns out I wasn't vaguely qualified.

Yeah, you generally don't get hired in college athletics unless you personally know the person making the hiring decision. Or you know someone who owes someone a favor. Or you're willing to start as an unpaid intern and work your way up.
I could apply for the job. I have no coaching experience at all. This is true. He runs a similar Offensive philosophy. Don’t care for Chryst but he is a good coach.
But the perfect Offensive Coordinator fit for Iowa is Frost! : )

I saw a tweet this morning suggesting that a good fit for the job would be Frost. Will. not. happen.
