1. This is great news. Need all the competition we can get at QB.

2. He played less than 5 games and redshirted last year, right?

3. This is beyond infuriating. WTF was the point of moving him to TE and wasting an entire year of his QB development? Its not like he was some amazing difference maker at TE? Is McN (and I guess Ash) just flipping a coin to decide on what position he plays?
McN and Ash can't get out of here fast enough.

If I'm not mistaken Jon asked for position change in order to help the team and also speed up seeing the field. I could be wrong but that is what I recall

He approached the coaches and asked to switch to TE. Ryan Tannehill was a college receiver and became a first round QB. It’s not a big detriment that he learned another position.
Ryan Tannehill was a college receiver who became a mediocre QB. Learning another position didn't help him.

Whether you like or hate Ash, some of you need to realize how moronic your comments are. He spent a few weeks at TE and did not lose a year of eligibility. He could end up back at TE next year as well. This does happen at other programs too. OSU is one of them.

Again, make fun of Ash’s face or the 1-11 record but stop trying to make real football related comments unless you like to look stupid. I don’t need to point out the names above. It’s glaring.

I actually applaud what the coaches did with JLew. It could be a new trend. He wasn’t going to play QB last year anyway so the team got a free look at him at another position for a few weeks. If JLew exploded great, if not the coaches can evaluate the better position moving forward. The third string QB probably gets close to no true reps in practice so he didn’t lose any real development.

Interesting take.
I would say even a terrible football critique is a more productive conversation than 'make fun of Ash's face".
But to each their own.

I would agree that moving players around isn't a big deal - especially at a school like OSU. However, we are not OSU.
Our QB development has been "less than ideal" for the past couple of years.
And our development of a backup QB has been "less than ideal" for over a decade.
Giving Lewis that most time possible to develop as a passing QB would probably not be a bad idea - since is back at QB again.

Even more so since he only had 85 pass attempts in his first year and now 0 attempts his redshirt year.
If he is going to actually be a QB long term here - he should have been playing QB last year instead of Gio.
The "play 4 games and still redshirt" would have been perfect to get him game action as an actual QB if that is his long term position.

Braxton Miller: He permanently moved to WR. He didn't move back and forth between positions.

Can someone that knows the qb position remind us of Lewis’ strengths and weaknesses again? From what I recall his main issue was accuracy correct?

He was a man amongst boys in HS. Great athlete but accuracy is reported to be an issue. Staff said it improved last off-season. We should be thrilled we have unselfish kids like him looking to help the team in any way he can. Hope he has a great year and career ahead of him wherever he ends up on the field.

He spent a few weeks at TE because Washington was out and he got some live reps which is a good thing. Still has 3 years to play 3. Always good to have great athletes on the team.

He’s made 105 million as a pro athlete, and lives in Miami with his wife. I’d say he’s done alright.
Just allright?
