Someone told me that ESPN decided to cancel all of their Disney tournaments. If true I guess we ended up making the right decision to pull out earlier. Anyone else hear anything?

I’m just waiting to hear who our first opponent is. Big Ten has given no indication when it will release a conference schedule from what I’ve seen.

Big 12 just issued its conference schedule. I’m starting to think season will be conference only and several local ooc opppnents. Don’t be shocked if conference schedule is minimum 22 games.

I hope not. I know everyone is struggling financially, but not playing OOC could be a death blow to a lot of MM and LM athletic departments.

Our situation could be dire too.

then again if there is no fans how can there be a payout to those visiting schools.

situation is a mess

I still think RU will have 7 OOC games. I sure hope so. 20 BIG games are enough. Local games in the OOC seem more reasonable to me.

How is our situation dire.
While not ideal we are in the BIG. Have huge amounts of money coming in through long term contracts. Hardly dire especially relative to what many non P5 conferences are going through.

Most of the non-conference schedule will be a within x number of miles. There are enough colleges within distance of most D1 schools, outside of Hawaii, to make it work and cheap. States continue to have travel restrictions to other states and new cases are still pretty high.

So if we have FDU, Rider and Syracuse we should still be able to still schedule 4 other eastern schools. Who knows maybe we will still play at U Mass and three others among those who were mentioned months ago like Merrimack, Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut, Maine or New Hampshire. Hopefully we will know soon. I want our newer players to play several games before the BIG 10 games.

I don’t have an updated figure over the past few years. I thought when things were fine we were negative $20,000,000. Is think this year would have to be -$35,000,000.

this obviously is not a RU only problem. Athletic prograMs making or wil make tough decisions all over the place.

Oh no....

According to Rutgers' most recent Fiscal Year report filed to the NCAA, the athleticsprogram had a $47.4 million shortfall in a $99.2 million budget that was made up by $21.3 million in support from the university's operating budget, $11.8 million in student fees and a $14.3 million internal loan.

Schiano could be the ace in the hole

Keep in mind this year we were supposed to play at SHU, surely SHU benefits by delaying the series a year and not losing the home sell out of the ROCK, the gate and money def impacts their decision

If SHU wants to forfeit their game because they’re scardy cats fine. Next year back at the RAC. Take it or leave it
