Agreed. Jim speaks his mind on a range of topics that might not be popular. He expressed them as his own views, and not those of UofM. Many public figures are afraid to speak their minds out of fear of cancellation.Mi livin and Palmer report do not understand the First Amendment and their position is wrong
He may have the right to open his mouth but seems foolish to do so with that particular sentiment.
It may seem foolish, and I disagree with his position, but at some point people are going to have to stop willingly being silenced.
He did speak at a "private" event for a pro-life group, however, somebody knew about it.I do wonder if Laura Ingram will have a segment where she tells him to shut up and coach though
I mean for consistency in her views of athletes and entertainers giving their opinion
What is wrong with him supporting a charity on his own time at essentially a private event? It is in line with his religious beliefs, something that a lot of people scoff at nowadays. This had nothing to do with his duties as coach.?
People speak out way more than they ever did. Sometimes they should just shut up, do their job and stick to what they know ...at least when whatever brain fart they have could interfere with that job.
But if an issue is important enough to someone they should never be silenced in expressing that. Especially if they are employed by a government agency.?

If he coached at a private college and they put restrictions on his public opinions that would be different
you can make your own choice, just like Jim Harbaugh can do the same. It's a free country."Be" silenced, no. "Silence" yourself, yes, indeed.

It's a perfectly fine quote. It is his opinion. He is not ordering anyone to do anything. As a matter of fact, it is a beautiful quote. Don't understand how it is not great. At least the guy stands up for what he believes in and doesn't cower in fear like a lot of other people. What's wrong is being quoted as saying "Have the courage to let the unborn be born." Not a great quote for anyone, let alone one of the most well-known CFB coaches.
I feel like you know that, though... since you posted it.
Then we agree. Fantastic.I am. Just like you did when you posted the article with a negative slant.
Thanks for the permission, however unnecessary.

I feel your wrong there.?

Not following your line of thought. I have been 100% consistent.Do you have a separate burner account you thought you were using? Because you're arguing with yourself more than me. Which is weird.
Excellent post. If people only want to listen in their echo chambers, how will they ever understand what the other side is trying to say? Even worse, how will people on opposite sides of an issue find common ground if neither will listen?I feel your wrong there.
Plumbers, sheetmetal workers , janitors and even Head Coaches should feel free to say what they feel in a respectable manner.
No one should be told to stick to what they do for a living and keep all other opinions to themselves.
America is going through a phase that both liberal and conservatives only want to hear people supporting what they support and any opposing viewpoint is challenged because they are not
professional involved in what they are expressing their opinion about.
I disagree with Harbaugh on the right to choose , but I understand where he's coming from because I was raised in the same faith and know what values Catholics have instilled in them.
That's not a knock on the religion, but just my lack of blindly following those values anymore and my deciding which ones deserve to be followed and which ones should be pushed aside and considered not worth following

To answer your question, it will probably do more to help than hurt recruiting although doubt it will do much in either direction.
Personally….
I support a woman’s right to choose! Roughly 98.5% of abortions were from women who chose to have sex.
Did they not know a very possible side effect of having sex is creating another human? In fact, it’s the only natural way to create one.
To the 98.5%, perhaps more education is necessary about choices in life and natural consequences for those choices, and also what a baby looks like at 6 weeks, 12 weeks, etc.
Neither. You greatly misunderstood what I posted and read too much into it. We can still be mountain biking friends though, and no offense taken.Harbaugh being Harbaugh has a negative connotation whether you meant it or not, reinforced by asking whether it will affect recruiting.
So maybe you meant it as bait but you ended up straddling the issue and taking one in the balls.

Harbaugh being Harbaugh is just him doing whatever he feels is right. He has always been that way. Some of the stuff he has done has been goofy and worth mocking, but on this, he is sticking to his guns on one of his core beliefs, and regardless of how I feel about the issue, I admire his willingness to speak to and support a group without fear of repercussion.
If you read the article, he was asked about if his speaking on this issue would affect recruiting, and he thought not. It may for some recruits, but it really should not, in my view. But that is a decision of each individual recruit. The key question for each recruit is Michigan the best place for them to advance their academic and football aspirations. Simple as that.
Anyone who has much to lose and who speaks their mind and it goes against the woke thought police has to have some measure of courage to do so. Agree or disagree, you have to admit it took courage. Also waiting for someone to suggest that more than half the aborted would have been female so it is not exactly anti-female to want to give them a chance to live.

Actually there are a large amount of non wokes that don't like to hear anything that goes against what they believe.Anyone who has much to lose and who speaks their mind and it goes against the woke thought police has to have some measure of courage to do so. Again- I disagree with his belief but also disagree with your statement.?

as long as I agree with what they sayHow about university professors?
