He is still around. You should Search Oscar Combs interview with Jim Andrews, and, UK Louie B Nunn Oral History Kyle Macy’s interview with Jim Andrews.

If you talk to players that were around the program at the time he played as well as those that followed the program during that era, they will tell you had Jim been totally dedicated as Dan Issel to the game to be the very best, he would have been better than Issel.

Used to see him a lot around town 10-12 years ago. Not sure if he still lives in Lex

Still lives in Lexington and has been seen at some events. Visited Joe B just before he passed. Jim lost his daughter to cancer, I believe, not that long ago and was quite bothered by the loss. Very good man.

I watched them both play. Jim was good, but hard to believe he could have been better than Issel.

Saw him in person years ago and he was a big man. Widest shoulders I have ever seen on a man. Just a big man.

I loved watching that team that Andrews played on, but Larry Stamper was the one I watched the most. I was watching to see who Stamper was going to punch out next. You didn't get rough with one of his team mates when Stamper was on the floor. He had everyone's back. Hasn't been a player here at Kentucky since. I wish he would have been on the 84 final 4 team. Either Ewing or Graham would have been taken out early in that game, Stamp would have made sure of that, and that would have made a big difference in the outcome. Maybe the Cats would not have went 3 for 31 from the field the second half if Ewing or Graham weren't in there roughing everyone up. One of them would have been taken out by Stamp.

Jamaal Magloire was close. He is the last enforcer we've had here. Boogie was tough too, but he couldn't hide it like Magloire.

Loved me some Larry Stamper. Honoriest son uhva gun to ever play at KY. Like Oxcar: “That’s MY effin’ rebound, so I’m takin’ it!!”

Still remember that little shot against IU that was halfway down and out that might have sent the Cats to the Final Four instead of the Hoosiers.

Jim was one of my favorites.

Mike Phillips was a tough son of a gun also, and he was a very very good player.

Ronnie Lyons, Jim Andrews, Rick Drewitz, Larry Stamper, and Ray Edelman were the only ones to play for both Coach Rupp and Coach Hall

Larry Stamper was not a very good basketball player, but nobody was tougher than him. He would throw down with anyone. Phillips, Roby, and Maglore were all tough and good players, but they were no Stamper.

He rebounded and played defense
