This is a name that has been pretty quiet on the recruiting front since she decommitted from Stanford. Hoping the Hawks get her as I'm pretty sure she has visited a few times. One of the top 28 recruits in the country right here in Iowa.

Father is all sorts of crazy, Lisa likely would not have taken her for that reason, but seems Jan might be willing to.
Seems dealing with over bearing Dad's is pretty much part of the job description anymore. I agree that Lisa likely would have avoided the potential headaches.
I respectfully disagree. Iowa's #1 mantra revolves around community and respect of others before self. Unproven talent is a distant 2nd to these assets.
How do you know that Jhaliana does not respect others?

I guess every recruit needs to prove themselves at the next level but JG is nationally ranked (also #1 in Iowa) and holds offers from more than a dozen major programs (including several B10 schools). It’s pretty clear she has proven her bb talent to the satisfaction of the evaluators.
Not questioning her talent; from what I've seen it's elite. My point is that isn't the only factor in determining whether or not someone is a good match for the program.
My red flag is the reports that she walked off the court during a game without informing her coach so she could leave for a recruiting visit to Texas.
That was her dad’s doing. She did what she was told.
Sometimes parents can be even more of a cancer to a team than the players.

Wow. Regardless, to not even inform the coach? That should have been discussed before the game even started. I guess I'm old school, but she'd have sat the next game for a stunt like that. Coaches may not have much control over parents , but they have to be in control of the players, or there is NO team.
And unless this info came from the coach/player herself I would take it with a huge grain of salt.

Agree, and it's not just that. Money has changed everything from a development and relationships perspective. Weren’t we told that Jan was under a lot of pressure from Deal's family/handlers to play/pay her more, even though her play didn't warrant it, and that she was somewhat relieved when she left? I can't imagine she's too keen on getting right back into another situation like that if there's already red flags.
I also wonder if that whole situation didn't create a weird dynamic with Deal and some of the other players who might have been earning less but producing more. It couldn't help things from a chemistry perspective.
So this came from the coach or the player? Why in the world wouldn't you at a minimum inform the coach that you had a conflict ahead of time and needed to sit this one out? Makes zero sense.
I don’t think Weber played her much, if at all the rest of the season. I think the family said she was injured so she was able to transfer without sitting out part of a season. Not 100% positive but what I was told by a MAC head coach.
I gotta think she’s going out West unless TCU throws a lot of money at them.
