FG better shot than 4th and 10. Just didnt make the kick, but still good call. Kind of the opposite as the going on 4th down early in the game.

Had he made the kick, you know exactly what you need to do to win, and have some time left (assuming you get the onside kick). I can’t criticize CJF on that one.
Yep, it was the right call. I learned that as a child from Dick Vermeil.
I see that call in the NFL all the time. since you have to get the onside kick either way, you are just comparing the odds of the FG vs the odds of hitting 4th and 10. if you get the onside kick you would be around the 50, so behind where the FG was kicked by 15-20 yds with same time and no TOs.
Yep, when time is your enemy you have to take the points and try to get it to one possession as fast as possible.
No you are wrong and clueless. They needed 2 scores and while it was a long shot that they recover an onside kick and score a TD, going for it on 4th and 10 would have been asinine.
It was the right call, but the kick was horrible. We need a better placekicker as misses like this one cost games. Is this the best we have?
I probably would have gone for it, but it was a reasonable call.
That said, I think that the rationale behind kicking validates that it was utterly idiotic to go for it on 4th & 5 earlier, esp given the game situation
TOSU would have blitzed the house on 4th & 10, I applaud Franklin for making a rare absolutely correct in-game decision.
