As of right now Callie Levin is the only current Hawkeye to comment on her instagram post.

She doesn’t follow any of the younger hawks.. just coaches and Kylie, Hannah, and Jada.

Edit: Mistaken she does follow Levin.

Will probably get a chance to get to know more players when she takes her official visit.

Man, this sucks. Losing a legacy like Greenway and a top in-state player. I don't get it... Iowa has been the epicenter for womens hoops. Addie Deal came.

Not specifically regarding Jenica, but on WBB recruiting in general, it’s no different than any other sport. There’s more than one factor that goes into a decision.

Just because Iowa has gotten the attention that it has doesn’t mean that every single recruit is going to think Iowa is the perfect fit.

They offer 20-25 people a class and the average recruiting class is 3-4 players.

I would disagree only because there are so many factors, many inscrutable, that go into any decision, whether it's choosing a school, a place to live, a job, whatever. What may appear obvious from the outside fails to take all those personal factors into account. The kids who choose to play at Iowa will be just fine. Good luck to those who choose to play elsewhere.

I know. I'm old school in my thinking. I just think the legacy these ladies would leave here has the potential to be amazing. They would be automatically be regarded as heroes.

For these ladies, I thought they were really connected with the program. That's why I thought they were going to be Hawks.

Lewis will take her OV to Iowa in 10 weeks..

In her top 5 she has posted about visits on instagram
Oregon-Official in May of 2025
TCU-Unofficial in November of 2024
ND-Unofficial in October of 2024
UNC-Don’t see any pics unless I’m blind.. but they did offer in 2021

So 10 weeks until her Iowa visit.. will she take OVs to TCU, ND, and UNC before then?

The positive is we are now getting the attention of the elite recruits. Next is getting them to visit and then getting them to commit to Iowa.

Thinking about Jenica's final five.

TCU is an up and comer, spending a lot of $$ to attract talent. Good academics.

Oregon has deeper pockets and some basketball history.

ND has a solid program but a lot of talent left so there is some unrest. I think this is one of her favorites.

NC has been bringing in a lot of talent. With Harpring commiited I think that helps Iowa.

Hawks are the home state school, family would be able to see her play. Hawks continue to build on their pteviois success. She would be a great fit.

I think it will come down to ND and the Hawks.

Lewis was scheduled to take a visit to UNC this past weekend. Doesn’t seem like she shared anything about it.

Interesting that her and Bjorn took another visit together..

I'd say it's the best case scenario for Iowa that they visited UNC last weekend. There probably won't be another home beatdown like that for their football team.

So Bjorn shared a pic on her Instagram story from the football game.. it was a repost from a current UNC player telling Bjorn and 39th ranked 2026 recruit to make the move to UNC..

In the pic.. Bjorn.. Harpring.. McDonald.. and a couple other players.

Not in the pic.. Jenica Lewis.. did she even take the visit?

Edit: Lewis announced plans to visit UNC, TCU, ND, and Iowa on August 8th.

A day later Harpring commits to UNC. Did that cause either Lewis or UNC to back out of the visit or did she take the visit without anything shown to the public?

Lewis did take her Official to TCU this past weekend.

Her next visit is ND on Oct 10th.

I’m guessing UNC is out of the picture..
So her likely finalists are
Oregon OV ✅
TCU OV ✅
ND OV on Oct 10
Iowa OV on Oct 24
Apparently, she didn't visit UNC or TCU. I hope this is somehow good for Iowa. I imagine Iowa is now her top3 finalists, along with Oregon and Notre Dame.

Her next visit is ND a week from today. Will she make it to Iowa on the 24th or commit to the Irish sooner? Always felt they would be our toughest competition.

What follows was re-tweeted by McKenna's dad, Aaron Woliczko.

Will Jan land Jenica Lewis? If so, look out!

Full text of the tweet:

CONCEPTUALLY THINKING BASKETBALL: The Jenica Lewis @JenicaRaine10 @JCSD_Girlsbball Imperative (Part 1)

Iowa @IowaWBB has already secured McKenna Woliczko
@McKennaDub —the No. 2 overall prospect in 2026, the offensive fulcrum with Olympic-level projection. Now the most critical piece of business sits in front of them: Jenica Lewis.

This isn’t about adding talent. It’s about solving a mathematical problem that’s been staring at their analytics dashboard since Caitlin Clark’s departure.

The numbers tell a story most programs ignore: Iowa’s 2024-25 composite efficiency sits at 107.6 (league average = 100). Strong. Not elite. The diagnosis? A shot profile imbalance (71.3 Rim/3 Rate, 29 points below modern benchmarks) and turnover inefficiency (81.2 TOV%, 19 points below standard).

Enter Lewis. 56-0 across her final two high school seasons. Not just wins—systematic execution. Her 38-40% three-point projection isn’t volume shooting. It’s architectural. It’s the kind of gravity that bends defensive geometry, creating driving lanes for @deal_addie @Journey_Renae and @ChazadiW while collapsing help away from McKenna Woliczko’s rim attacks.

But here’s what separates elite recruitment from talent collection in this age of complexity: Iowa isn’t chasing the highest-ranked guard. They must identify the exact skill set their data demands. Lewis brings rare versatility—the ability to toggle between elite primary ball handling and pick-and-roll execution, then shift seamlessly into spacer and secondary creator roles. At 5’10” with positional flexibility to play 1-3, she doesn’t just fill a position. She provides tactical adaptability that modern systems require.

This matters because the complexity of elite WBB demands players who can operate in multiple offensive contexts within the same possession. Lewis can bring the ball up as primary initiator, run side pick-and-roll as secondary creator when defenses trap Deal @deal_addie or Chit Chat @ChazadiW, or spot up as a spacer creating gravity for Woliczko’s fulcrum actions. That toggle ability—moving fluidly between roles based on defensive coverage—is what separates good spacing from elite offensive architecture.

The Woliczko signing established Iowa’s offensive fulcrum—but not just as a post. McKenna operates inside and out, a forward whose versatility creates offensive architecture from multiple levels. When optimized correctly, she functions as a high-post decision-maker—reading defenses, making reads, and creating advantages through vision and positioning.

But here’s where the math becomes critical: without Lewis? Even Woliczko’s multidimensional game as an offensive fulcrum faces limitations imposed by defensive geometry. With Lewis spacing the floor as one of the country’s most polished gravity wells? You’re unlocking Woliczko’s complete package through floor spacing that the data shows is non-negotiable for elite offensive efficiency.

This is why Lewis must be the top priority. Not because she’s the missing piece—because she’s the activation mechanism that transforms Woliczko from talented forward into offensive fulcrum.

This is system architecture at its finest. Jan Jensen isn’t rebuilding post-Clark—she’s reengineering. Securing Lewis would solve Iowa’s shot profile problem immediately: her elite gravity well presence—40% three-point volume with range and movement shooting—forces defenses into impossible choices.
