They are KY boys. Don't think they were going anywhere regardless.
Not the point of the argument. They got minutes because they stuck it out. Whether you're from Kentucky or not, when you stick it out, you have a better chance of playing as you grow and progress. I don't know if Baker will stay 4 years or not, but he can't be dumb enough to think he's going to play over Diallo this year. It's entirely possible he committed with the intent of waiting his turn.

Who cares if he apologized. He only did that because he wanted to be involved with the UK program again. He is a rat and a traitor. Next thing he will be on a Louisville station telling everyone why Cal is such a bad coach.

This guy has one of the most beautiful strokes in college basketball, but he has a ways to go improving his defense and other facets of his game before he will see big time minutes in the future. Kind of think like Kyle wiltjer duties in his freshman year..
He will be a much better defender than Wiltjer.

Barker's got the confidence and range to log some decent minutes next year. I feel our fanbase will be pleasantly surprised.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but this guy has no interest in rational discussion.

His game is bash Cal from every angle, while constantly moving goalposts.

Not even remotely clever, but the board police here have the patience of Job. Probably doesn't help that you can get banned, change your name, and post again in 5 minutes.

I baker will be a wildcard. Teams will force him to beat them and if he's on, look out. He's a great 3-4 yr addition that will be a huge asset. I'd like to know what the wager was? If baker loses he has to do 50 push-ups, if red won he probably got a couple oxys and some smart

That's just freakin ridiculous. If you can't forgive someone as beloved as Rex Chapman for mistakes made while under the pull of addiction, then something is wrong with you. You may see whatever when you see Rex now but I am so happy to see him beating this addiction thing. The addiction epidemic is wide spread and it's great to see someone beating it for once. It makes it that much better that it's a beloved player like Rex. I cheer every damn time I see him do something like this and now he's putting his name up to bring awareness to addiction. So, you can GTFO all you want but I'm pulling for my guy Rex and it's great to see him around UK.

Nah imma stay. We disagree.
No biggie . I certainly don't wish for you to "gtfo" just Rex. You seem like a solid poster :)

Cheers !

I don't think it's impatience. I think it's probably good decisions on behalf of Matthews and Poole (in terms of playing time). Doesn't matter how long players stay, it won't boost their minutes.

Actually , Willis and Hawkins got pretty good minutes considering all the talent on the rosters.

In fact I'd say it was indeed good minutes. Fact.

The kid will play if he earns it. Yeah, Cal is always going to recruit the best players he can, but guys like Liggins who stuck it out got their share of PT by earning it. Only a complete moron would think Cal doesn't play his best options, period. All the whining about players "getting recruited over" is asinine. Do you want Cal to recruit worse so lesser players can get a chance? Or would you rather he just get as many as he can and have them sort it out through their play? Think, people. Or just troll on.

If Cal thinks he can unlock a kid's potential and help us become the best possible team by March, that kid will get minutes.

It really isn't complicated, no matter how much some want to impugn Cal's motives.

On the flip side, Cal is willing to shut a guy down or limit him if it isn't quite working deep into the season. Skal being the best example of this.

We have a handful of keyboard wizards who don't like it, but it's hard to argue with the results of the formula. Strangely enough, it typically results in a talented team peaking at exactly the right time.

But get ready. Jemarl Baker is about to be the new Mychal Mulder. Or Richie Farmer. Or maybe Troy McKinley. :joy:
